That one is built by Spanish coachbuilder Emelba who did a whole range of slightly off-kilter conversions on small Seats. A quick google should throw up a fair bit of info/ pictures on that outfit, they've done some very cool stuff over the years

That Rover 75 coupe, Rover had several in one of their rooms. When the chinese took over rover we went in just before it started to get pulled down to spec some machinery for them and they had their own little museum inside the factory, which was cool and they had other versions of the 75 and other odd cars which looked quite cool. Could've saved them maybe

Anyway here's my lame contribution, Land Rover Llama....

This link may interest a few people, Even if the manufacturers wont make it people out there will. I can remember seeing a Calibra Convertible using an M3 roof and looked amazing and fit was spot on.

Its in German as i found it for the conversion my Beetle had. Have seen a convertible Jetta done as well.

Well this thread made for one interesting read!
I'm well into the pre-production prototypes and one-offs, so here are a load of Aston Martin cars, all pics taken from astonmartins.com, I'll attempt a chronological order, and also my apologies if the positioning of pictures and captions are strange, as well as poor spelimg, had some trouble here and there, but here you are:

The Pre-production DB2 prototype, there is another one (i think only one more) in red, both recognisable from there UMC 'plates


Next is what turned out to be a DB4 prototype, the DP114/2


Can't quite remember the name of this one (sorry), but it was a variation of the V8 DBS i believe..



Next up are some specials of the virage, four door saloon and shooting brake

That shooting brake not fast enough for you? - of course it isn't, here, have a vantage version

Was told about this Fiesta by a guy who works at Dunton a week or two back. The idea was for a taxi to sell in India, but decided there was no call for it. And also I worked for Borg Warner in Letchworth in the start of the 70's and prototype mules came down from Rover looking like this with an fibre glass estate back end and a front end like a one piece Mini front also in glass that had a Rolls grill molded in to disguise them all held on with bungee starps! . Tax disc said'ALLIED' for make. Paul

I think that happens a lot.
Apart from the Citroen BX/Volvo mashup above, there's the (possibly suspect) story that the Reliant hired Giugiaro to design a new generatyion of Scimitar. They ended up being out of business by the time he'd finished so he hawked it around the doors and Honda used it for the Accord Aerodeck. The evidence is in the rear windows, apparently.

Had Isuzu built this, it would have beaten Honda to the punch and could possibly have become the classic that the NSX is. On paper it all looks good - 4.2L all alloy V8, lotus designed suspension.

Wouldve been even better with this in it -


Two of these actually exist. One was strapped to a Lotus f1 chassis and its whereabouts now are unknown, the other is at Isuzu's headquarters

This is a Artz Quattro (as well as the Estate on page 4).

Artz build (or had the ideas to build) a lot of cool cars in the 80s (Bettle with Porsche mid engine, Golf I on Porsche 928 frame) some of the them are promoted under the name of the company he used to work for that time, Nordstadt a Hannover VW Dealer.

About the 4door quattro there is a story about the men who restored it in the lastest issue of german classic car magazine "Auto Bild Klassik".
