Nigel.....its currently 90% of the way to losing its exhaust manifold at the barn so it probably wont make the meet!
Will.... hahahah thats mad! Small world indeed
Dubwarrior.... No idea tbh chap, don't even know whose yard that is, the people I dealt with were behind the yard in a different unit. I *could* pass on the guys number to see if he could help you outy?
Scary.... I remember it well! Loud as fooooook! This wasnt that bad, just a bit tiring after a while, nevermind the fact welsh roads seem to go on for eternity.
Glad to of cheered a few peeps up Will start a build thread when something actually happens! Its been insulated once, but only a little, so I'm saving for some celotex (or similar) to clad the inside with before starting fitting out in earnest. Also need to sort its mechanical niggles and the fact one of the previous owners is an electrical moron! Screw into the side of a lead acid battery anyone???!!!
The main good points are....
... its solid as a rock. 1 repair to the step done ok by previous owner. The doors has some filler in them but its obvious where.
... mechanically it drives pretty damn nice for a luton! It corners / steers / rolls less / goes faster than a noughties LDV luton I used to drive for work occassionally! Madness. LDV are rubs haha.
... it was cheap AND it comes with 5 months tax and mot
... also fitted with split charge relay, spare batteries, some insulation, a new matress, 1000W inverter and all sorts.
bad points.....
...its painted in emulsion paint. Everywhere. With runs.
...its a petrol 4 speeder!
...all the batteries on it are toast. I did get some money back from the seller because of this (The seller was a genuinely nice guy actually, he'd only had it 3 weeks so probably didnt know half the faults)
Thats about it though really. And best of all it cost less than a deposit on a rented flat!
