I'm sure it's a very good car and must say it looks cool lowered on the black rims, but retro? Sorry it's just not. My idea of retro is something like a Mk2 Cortina. I think retro stops at late eighties, some early nineties cars can look retro, and obviously stuff like mini's etc which have kept the same basic design of days gone by. Good luck with the car, no offence was intended, just seems odd to see it here. but surely as the years move on, cars from the 90's and eventually the 00's will be retro? I love older cars, hence my lurking here, but I fully understand my vec aint retro yet. But its coming of age would love to see the saab turbo'd vectra that sounds cool as

My idea of retro is something like a Mk2 Cortina. I have a solution for your problem. Next time you're browsing the Reader's Rides section only click on threads with cars in that are your idea of retro. Your opinion isn't really required in this thread.

would love to see the saab turbo'd vectra that sounds cool as Cheers for that, I think its still a bit to new and not obscure like yours to fit in with the quality retro-ness here. I¡¦ll just try and fit more old parts to help its average age drop ƒº cars 99, wheels are 98, engines 95! Sadly the bumpers 02 so that brings me right back up again!

Thanks Chaps, oh it is staying now, after weighing it up its not worth me parting with a car i know all about :-), plus i really get abuzz from driving it, i will have a couple more pics soon, as i am doing a few bits to it, its currently sorned so i can do the anti roll bar bushes and droplinks, and service, then i will be cutting the exhuast up to fit a super cool 90's style back box and making it lower :-).
I love the rawness of the 20v, and it can do comfort too.
thanks chaps

So, my next question, does the Turbo version of the Coupe lump slot in? Yes it does and has been done but the electrics and abs are the problems, i can get a loom sent over from brasil (they have a massive following over there and they made a marea turbo and marea 2.4 20v too for market) but the abs is still a problem, i may drop a turbo lump in one day but that would be a while unless i came into some money lol

Well, after a layup since last august, its back up and running, charged the battery up and it barked into life, and what a bark it has too, next up is tax, and then take it for a drive, still has over a qtr of tank of old fuel in there so need to get rid and fill it up, need to do the spark plugs and a few other bits and then it will be just tiding a few bits up..... But although i got offered full asking price for it i just could not bear to let it go, does that make me weird???

Not at all.
There is a great deal to be said about knowing your car and all its little "issues" etc.
Since reading this thread last year it has certainly made me start looking at the Marea's
And as i should be in the situation to spend a bit of cash in 6 weeks time, there may well be another one joining this here forum!

Thanks Buddy :-) yeah get one there awesome cars and drive brilliantly anyway, the wagon is TAXED and i took it for a spin yesterday, put some fresh fuel in and then my steering device went from this 330mm square bottom to this 330mm suede deep dish (3" dish) wheel, i have wanted to get this on since i got it a week ago... and i must say it is full of win, the only thing i struggled with was indicators they are no longer in flicking distance lol, next week, i hope to have my new seats in and a oil change cheers robin

Well a small update yet again, i fancied a change so i got some new wheels bought of here from ludsonline and a really nice guy to deal with too, got them home and waited on some spigot rings and new wheel bolts and on they went, went a inch bigger but wanted something 90's touring car style and these fitted teh bill for my look, was gonna go lower but think its sits perfect now :-) i am very pleased with my wheels and they are mint bar one nick but i am sure i can sort that
