Hi Been offered a Mazda 323F ZXI 2.0 V6 in silver, 129k, service history, clean body, slightly rough interior with a torn and sagging drivers seat, and a new clutch, cambelt and front wishbone bushes in the last year for £350 with about 10 months MOT, does anyone know anything about them? It looks v.cool, kinda coupe-ish with pillarless doors, but a 5-door. Haven't driven it yet, but it looked good and sounded amazing! I'm bored of my Golf and it might keep me amused in a JDM way for a few months, apparently it's quite a quick car... Potential?

I've never owned one, but I've always like the look of them.
Its worth £350 with that MOT on to see what its like, you should make your cash back if you don't get away with it tbh...

Yeah that's what I'm thinking, plus got a quote and the insurance is less than the mk3 8v Golf GTI I'm driving now... It's a 2.0 V6, which I find quite weird. Just hope it isn't the power of a 2.0 four with the mpg of a 3.0 V6

Hi. The mrs wanted one of these, before she begged me for a bloody hyundai Theres a lot with rattly , smoky engines about as its gotta have the correct oil in and be serviced well. Lots of odd rattles from exhaust silencers and doorcards if any fixings are missing but go well enough. hammer it and get 18mpg, drive steady and get nearer 30mpg, the choice is yours .

Sounds about the same as my Golf mpg wise, as for the engine I didn't notice any rattling or smoke but it was hot, would need to see it on a cold-start. Funny enough, the heat shields on the exhaust did rattle... Can't imagine anyone begging for a Hyundai lol

Had one of those (only a 1.8 though) but had to sell it when I got a company car. Being a mazda with next to no ford parts in it, it was reliable beyond belief, and the pillarless doors are uber cool. My god, how i miss this car... It's rattly exhaust was easily fixed with some hose clamps by the way

I had a MAZDA MX6 same engine I think. Nice motor but I found it a bit too nice (smooth, quiet and unfortunatly guttsy) Not really me tbh. 350 sound good tho.
Ah just remembered it was a 2.5 v6

I love this shape 323. I'm afraid I have nothing to offer this thread except for an advert by Tony Kaye for the 'new' 323. As far as I know, this was the first interactive advert in the UK. The idea was you video the advert (remember videos?) then play it back and pause the text to read it. It got a lot of people talking at the time about the novel appraoch to advertising. He did another interactive advert for the 323, but this time the voicover was so quiet you had to turn the volume right up to hear what was being said. Again, making the advert memorable for having to consciuosly having to interact with it. Unfortunately I can't find this particular advert On a side note, look up some of the other adverts by Tony Kaye....on a personal level, he's one of (if not the) most inlfuential advertisers/directors of the 90's - his visual style is awesome when you consider what else was around at the time. His Dunlop advert 'Tested for the Unexpected' was a work of art in itself although a lot of people didn't get it because they were used to 'conventional' advertising. He also directed American History X and if you haven't seen that, you should! I'll shut up now...

Do eet. I have to admit I REALLY LIKE the second red one, the way it stands on the road is just purrfect. And it gets even better! Supertourers from JTCC and BTCC. And it still gets better: JDM whale-tail for the full effect, look for "Lantis Type-R" ;D
