Thank's guys, really appreciate your comments!! ;D I am, really pleased with the difference all the small changes and the wheels have made. Lot's of little things were just plain wrong and the overall feel was just messy and confused when i got her. But i could see from the start there was so much improvement to be made without any horrendous work needed. I've got some little asthetic touches to fit that i've been slowly aquiring. Plus a new heater control valve and fuel pump. Fan belt has been replaced, airhorns are in place ready to be wired correctly along with the spot lights. And then the interior will be attacked! I'm driving solo for now as i've removed the passenger seat with a view to re fitting the originals on both sides but leaving the harnesses in place to continue the slightly racey feel. New universal runners need fettling into place though as the originals are missing. Passeger seat is in good condition but drivers has some tears. I'm happy to live with them like that until i get them re covered though. And the centre console will come out for a clean and a refurb along with the gauges. Carb needs a refurb and re jet and that's it at the moment....... The girlfriend and i have just set a date for our wedding next august, and i want the Taunus to take me to the venue so, and i'll be lucky to have the cash, but i'd love to have the bodywork done for that........but she's easily presentable as is so it's nowt major if not. ( ps. many many thanks to 'Old Skool Scotty' for all his ongoing and much apprecaited help, guidance and knowledge of old cars in general!! ;D)

That's looking brilliant, really liking the wheels. My immediate thought was 'what wheels can I do that to?' The stance is spot on too, nice bit of rake. So, 8 Ball next week?

I'd love to attend the next 8ball, and that will probably be one of her first outings, next week may be a bit of a push though, got to be up at 4:50 next day for work, and I really need to fit the new heater control valve before I go any distance, as she's loosing water constantly through a perished seal. The daily driver is being mot'd Thurs as well so......... But I assure you I'll be there if at all possible!

This car was a looker from the off. But now with the new wheels, and exterior touches (the plates, the lights and especially the wheels) it really is beginning to look quite special .

It makes a real difference when people mention the changes made etc and that they are real improvements. I'm only now really starting to be able to stand back and see how she's looking. Up until now it's just been a constant mission to repair, tidy, modify and reverse many changes that a previous owner had made, and very badly too in many cases! I'm only now getting to start enjoying her! Although I'm used to having her around I forget that many others see her as unusual etc, so I'm looking forward to hitting some shows in the coming months hopefully!

First 'purely for fun' jaunt out yesterday in the sun. It was the Mrs' first ride since the restoration started made possible by her original seat securely fitted, replacing the badly fitted bucket. Another pair of universal runners are on they're way and my drivers seat will be replaced with the original too. Keeping the harnesses for safety and I like the period 'mild road racer' look it gives......... The interior is the next area of concentration so when it's looking clean and tidy I'll post some pics........(ps. The slim racing style buckets pictured in this thread will be available as a pair within a couple of wk's so if anyone's interested PM me. No rips or tears) Just took a few pics when we got back taking the opportunity to tidy the garage a tad with both cars extracted........ 'Nina' with the daily driver:

Erika still doesn't look impressed! "Nina" looks a millions dollars now. What you going to do about the missing trim / holes around the front panel? Looks can be deceiving Trig.....she 'said' she'd enjoyed the ride out! ;D Thank's for the 'thumbs up' she's starting to take shape now, shaping up to what I envisaged anyway. Looks like we're going to blank off the old mechanical fuel pump and fitting an electronic one instead. The original is still leaking a bit of oil and is allowing fuel to run back down the feed pipe. Might be part of the reason she's not revving much.........not enough fuel pressure. But she's getting there! Probably not going to replace trim around front, would need to buy the whole lot and there's only about half the holes remaining in the panels. I've treated them against rust and will get the holes deleted when I eventually get the old gal repainted.......that won't be for a while though!

Ahh......Santa Pod! ;D I would love to attend but it's a fair way for me, especially in a car that has covered less than 200miles since she's been with me! Mmm, the only reason I'd have to say no in the Taunus would be because I have a fuel leak on the pump and none of our 2.3 pumps over here fit (we tried one two wk's ago) Prob going to convert to electric. I might be free though so could possibly attend in 'the not so classic' Focus ST?! Let me have a word with some friends and see what people are up to......... I'll get back to you. Are you driving over Totti? And just for the show?! (If I can covert Fuel pump in time on Taunus though........... ;D)
