Looks like a great project, i ve had 3 mk2's over the years inc a mint 86 xr2 which i wrote off , a cut n shut 89 xr2 ( don't ask!) and a 87 1.1L with 30k on clock ( was my grandads from new) Unfortunately whilst the engine and box were like new, the body was like yours and rotten as a pear! Its no wonder mk2 fez's are few and far between these days!

hi all, I managaed to grab some time on it today will let the pics do the talking as I'm shattered first up was to mount the turbo and try and fit a rad which involved cutting and bashing turbo on which shows how tight its going to be , going to try and get the 10mm I lost because of the adapter plate removed from the turbo flange and maniflod flange after alot of bashing and cuttin and faffing about taking the manifold studs off and on so I could mount the turbo with the rad in , well its in but its fag paper tight will do for mocking everything up then ill break it back apart and tidy up the cuts think this is where the air filter will have to sit sorted the intercooler pipes to the throttle body just a little more to remove from one of the pipes tomorrow cut the bumper still needs a tweak but cooler is barely visible will paint it black when it all comes apart again starting to feel like it will be done soon got the sills collected the other day so when it comes apart next week all the welding will be done and then it'll need mapped which should be fun more to come tomorrow when ill start on the wiring , really looking forward to doing that

hi just thought id update this as it's still here and currently getting some attention will let the pic's do the talking as I'm shattered started by getting the pass side in the air and the screw driver out so started to remove the bad bits and was met by a wall of dust deja vu here looks like the a found the reason its had a dorr skin on this side and its pretty manky inside as well started to fill in the gaps thats as far as i got with welding as the bloody welder keeps breaking this car is turning into another headache like the purple 1 thats sitting outside garage now looks like its been snowing dash back in and xr2 clocks fitted into chopped pop dash thats all for now but should be more very soon as its stuck in the garage till it drives out as I'm sick of looking at it and not driving it
