I like Trabbi's, but know virtually nowt about them other than what you just said. Seriously doubt whether any 2-Stroke tuning bits are available. Much more fun could be had chucking in something small, light and screamacious... I'm avoiding the RR standard response "hayabusa" but that would be fun. Are they RWD? I bet they are. A Toymota 4AGE would be a hoot. Or something really daft along the lines of that Minor on a 200SX floorpan - shorten an e30 BMW 325i floorpan and gaffer tape the Trabant body to it in a kind of East-meets-West duroplast nut-job-mobile...
Time for my medication...

Very late cars came with a 1.1ltr Polo engine which could be amusing in a 600kg car ;D Oh man! G60 FTW in that case! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

that 1st wagon you posted is the damned nuts - i loves it ;D I love these things - we nearly bought one once. look on eBay though - they don't come cheap. i believe that as standard they are great runabouts and probably a lot of fun, but don't think you're getting anywhere soon. Modification wise - well, the world is your oyster

I've found a few German websites/firms that do tuning parts, well... 'sport' single carbs, 'sport' exhaust but all look much like the original parts. Because theres no cam or valves i suppose your very limited as to what you can actualy change/modify. I'd love to know if anyone has put expansion chambers, slide carbs, reed blocks and some increased crankcase compression in a trabbi. I'd love one supremely cool cars, more info needed. hydraulic brakes?

All I know about Trabbi's is that I had to drive one once and it was really bloody awful ;D
Aside from that they look pretty cool.

found this while looking up lowride's. no i don't know why it came up either I'm a fan of all two-stroke's, so simply so fast, some one mentioned that there are no hopup parts for the the two-stroke engine? get out a file, raise exhaust port lower the inlet port. who needs to buy parts to go faster!
