Hi all, here is my ford sierra XR4x4 1986 mk1 in rosso red. I took this in a part ex for my E28 bmw last month. The car has been stood since 1998ish in a dry lock up and the previous owner has done bits to it since then but never got it on the road, it was his dads before him. The car has a vast amount of history and bills for work done since new. It was zi-barted/wax oiled/underbody sealed from new and this reflects the great condition. theres no rot underneath, with just a little bit starting on the rear cills. the interior in again in great condition. theres a few niggley bits on the car, but only minor cosmetic. theres a couple of grey patches where the body has had some work done, but as you can see in the pics, its nothing realy. It drives great and is ready to drive.Best bet is come and have a look. Any questions contact me on 07971990368, I'm not at my computer alot as work is realy busy running up to xmas.
it will make more on the bay i just sold a mk2 2.9i 4x4 which isnt the sought after one for just short of 1200 and that needed work doing to it in white .... it needed a back panel and welding on the sills for next test ;-)
the mk1 is getting rather sought fater just like the mk3 escorts and other 80's cars you may be surprised mate ;-)

nice one mate, in fact, ive got a mint mk3 xr3 4 speed w reg coming in the next few weeks, thats in black which I'm sure was a special order in the early xr3's?........It needs painting, but all the usual areas that rot on a mk3 are spot on.
I'm going to be nice here simons7, Ive read what you have posted several times about your bad luck with your xr4i, and i do genuinely feel for you, you chok bang full with the eternal expectation of getting more than what you got for your car, those retro memories and rose tinted glasses are not a good combination. But i feel now that i know your old xr4i better than you did. So thank you for all your input into this thread and No, i wont be on my drive for much longer, baff the xr register has been briliant with putting people my way. The point of the 4 speed mk3, i do know that all early mk3 xr3 carb models were 4 speed, i was being descriptive. But thanks for your help in the selling and tecno parts of my posts, its been a help.
I'll correct you here too,all XR3i's were 5-speed as standard, early XR3's(thats the carb'd ones) were 4-speed from Launch in late 1980 until Spring 82,then for a few months were available as 5-speed until discontinued to make way for the XR3i
