Then there's the uncracked mk1 Sierra dashboards fetching a grand.Does such a thing exist ? Nay I say ! You'll be telling me theres an uncracked RS1600i or S1 RST dash out there next ... crazy talk it is !
;D
The problem with these prices is that the 'market' becomes very elite for certain cars. In particular, the aircooled VW market is absurd ... thousands for a rusty old nail ? Much as I love a good Samba (oooh) I wouldnt even contemplate spending the prices asked on one. The same goes for Mk2 Escorts (RS2000's in particular) and increasingly some watercooled VW's like the Mk1 GTI and the Mk2 16v, especially if its in that [sarcasm on] 'oh so rare' [sarcasm off/] oak green ... its true that something is only worth what someone will pay for it, but its also true that a great many people are unfathomably stupid. In the case of aircooled VW's, people often pay these ridiculous prices not because they want a classic, but because they are 'cool' to be seen in. It has little to do in many cases with enthusiasm, they are simply the 'thing' to have ... 'cool' is a meaningless, subjective term and exists only because someone says it is so.
I'll stop rambling on now ...
