I didn't take any shots during the last snow (annoyingly) but here are a few from previous icy spells.

Pulling cars up ice covered hills (compacted snow polished to sheet ice from cars not knowing how to drive up steep hills) - I had to pull four cars up here to clear the side road...


Dragging cars out of remote lanes on the mendips. Often having to pull them backwards a long way to get to a clearing big enough to pass them, then tow them normally to a clearer road


These are the sort of lanes I was finding 'normal' cars stranded on. WHY would you attempt to drive down something like this in a normal car? The snow is well over 12" deep...


The view behind...cars being pulled through the snow to get them back to civilisation


Most of the roads had only been accessed by things like tractors as you can see, but some of the lanes this deep in snow were blocked with people who 'thought' their standard hatchback would 'be fine'!!

Sorry, couldn't resist putting this in here - it always makes me laugh:


Only giving up when my tow strap gets cut through on a guys suspension arm (he didn't have a clue to to be towed and ended up driving over the strap getting it caught around the suspension) At least he gave me the money to buy a new one once I'd got him to a 'good' road.



...and my fave of all...pulling this thing UP St Michaels Hill (one of the steepest hills in Bristol) after it had slid down on the sheet ice. The snow had started to melt and then froze leaving Bristol as a giant sheet of black ice. It was only about 100ft I had to pull it, but there were people literally crawling up the hill on their hands & knees it was that steep/slippery. Everyone laughed when I suggested towing it up the hill. The Delica had the last laugh.
