Nice wheels mate! 4x114.3? I love what you've done with this car. I cannot remember the last time I seen a Sapporo on UK roads. SR20 is a good idea. Can you not get a MT from an S14 though? Manual is more fun when RWD! Thank you, sir yes, 114.3x4 Maybe I'll put into a MT some day, but now I have the whole swap at a really reasonable price. And people say those AT from S15 are not bad at all. Although, when I was looking for a swap I couldn't even imagine I would go for an AT. So, as the old ad of Sapporo says it is a personal luxury car not a sports car Trying to prove that!

Well if you have located all you need at a good price, that's half the battle, so I understand your plans. There's nothing wrong with a decent auto, I'm a big fan, but it depends if you want to just cruise, or drive it hard/drift it! I assume you just want to chill out and cruise, as Mitusbishi intended lol. When are you planning to get the S-Body parts? (I currently own an old Ford, but 70's JDM is where my heart lies.) Get those wheels on!

Get those wheels on! I'd love to get them on right now, but I have to wait until they come from Japan I just purchased them today. Unfortunatelly, we don't have such events as track days, otherwise I'd race it for sure with an MT and proper suspension. So yes, cruising S-Body parts? What do you mean? Sorry, I'm trying to write in proper English, but it's not always easy to understand all these non-vocabulary stuff

We didn't move far ahead, but still have something to post. The swap is finally in process. The engine is in his place and fits perfect. Now have to cut and weld a bit to have some place for the AT gearbox. Will post some photos later. And eventually I got my rims and I love them! Can't say the condition was ideal, they got pale and oxydised and the bolt wholes got rusted. So, got some sandpaper, polishing stuff and a couple of days-off:) Than goes renovation of the black paint And after about 3,5 hours per one rim we've got the result Sure they'll look fine on Sapporo

Got some news. The engine takes its place on new mounts. Had to make the mitsu mounts ~7cm lower to make it fit properly. Seems to be enough space to move nissan's stock air filter, radiator and all the rest. Also had to cut the gearbox tunnel for the new gearbox, but nothing criminal, it sits perfect. That's all for now.

Looks awesome, great choice of car and engine.
Just so you know, S-body cars are any of the Nissan Silvia series cars. As in s13 / s14 / s14a / s15 etc.

Wow just stumbled across this. Great work, I have a Sapporo as well and have been playing around with the idea of putting a CA18DET engine in or an SR20DET engine it. Was concerned the SR20 wouldn't fit but seeing this now really helps. I have a few other things to do like sort the interior and hunt for a windscreen, but the engine is high on my list of priorities. Did you have to cut the front cross member or alter the steering at all for this? What are your plans for the prop and rear dif?

79cord, The House thanks mmmajr, forget about ca18det! I don't see any point for such swap. 4g63t is the best option, but I've seen some Sapporo's in the Phillipines going with sr20det's. SR20DE fits just perfect. Just had to customize the crossmember to use the nissan's engine mounts (sorry, don't know the English names of the parts). So, we lowered the engine mount by ~7cm to make everything take its place. But with DET engine there gonna be a lot more work due to turbo's position on this engine. I'm sure there must be a lot more modifications. Plans for the prop are simple. We'll meet the front part of nissan's prop with the rear part of mitsu's and balance it. And for the moment I'll look how the stock diff will suffer 160bhp, because I have a spare one in my garage... If it will die the plan B should come. And it is using a rear diff from jdm nissan avenir 4wd wich is ~8cm wider, so it will be a reason to change the look adding the arch fenders. But I'm still just thinking about it... So, any advice is welcome;)

The brand new gearbox tunnel is finally done. Also the new engine and gearbox mounts are polymer coated. And the propshaft is welded and balanced.

Howdy, guys It's been a long since last post. I've spent all my money, but fortunately I have a result. I'm sorry for all the photos made with the mobile phone, but you know how it happens:) Here are modified subframe and whole new gearbox mount: the Tunnel! assembling almost everything transfered from silvia's bonnet + radiator mounts and coolant tank from subaru. and a quick photo of how it looks with the new wheels I'll try to put in English the technical part of this swap, but later on. Also hope I'll take some photos with better camera soon. Cheers! And a sincere wish for all the retroriders: mates, have tonnes of pacience and positiveness in what you do.

When I saw the car for the first time as an ad, there were so many things I've never seen before in a car and they became things I can't imagine my car without now. That probably is the spirit of MMC Sapporo mkI about which every previous owner of this car tends to say when I meet them...
