After being offered RM1's Malachite green touring, we took the opportunity and drove down today (Christmas) and picked it up. We were originally going to break it and use the bits for our other touring, but this one's in a lot better condition and needs less work so all plans have been moved on to this one, and the other ones being scrapped. What we've done: 2.5 TDS Engine Black Leather Seats (Front's are E36) Black Carpet Boost, ETG and water temp gauge with carbon fibre effect gauge pillar gauge pod 16x8 et16 Alulines Custom Mechanical Pump (1 of 10 ever made) E36 M3 Steering rack Intercooler IS Splitter Kidney Grills/Engine Bay also resprayed Graphite BMW Silver HID's Pressed Plates Purple Dice Dustcaps Strut brace TVR Exhaust 2013 Plans: New Engine Bigger Turbo 5 Stud conversion 16x8 et16 Aluline alloys So pics, these were the ones we were sent. Ready for the trip home

As said, 2.5 tds engine is a brilliant idea, very original! I've always wanted to put a the 3.0 TD engine from an e39 530d into an e36 coupe but I don't know if I'll ever get around to it.

Can't please everyone It is a shame your removing the m20 but this is one of the best ways to get an e30 that doesnt cost a fortune to run about in. What else do you expect from e30zone. ;D

Colonel - John says we'll bring it down to an area 52 meet when done. I only post on the zone for advice now, think there more intoxicated that I beat a fragger to it. E30 diesels are rare. We know Of 2 other 325tds', one in the netherlands, one in california and the 324td in Europe. We wanted to be different and with doing 80 miles a day, economical is better. The other two 325's are running Fully EDC powered TDS' whereas ours will be running fully mechanically so no electrical gubbons to curse word up. We've done our research

This has the makings of an awesome daily smoker. I have to say, I think I prefer the cream leather, it suits the green paint.

I must say I'm not a fan of replace the engine by a diesel, but if it keeps the car on the road instead of letting it rot outside because it's too expensive to run then I have nothing to say. It wouldn't be too hard to put the M20 back in anyway would it? Should anyone want to make it original when (if) you sell it

The engine swap makes sense if you're going to be using it quite a bit; the petrol six whilst lovely does like a drink and that diesel in the E30 will make a good and interesting car.
I think you're mad to replace the cream leather though - it complements the green paintwork and looks excellent. It is rare too, sometimes it seems like every other car is black inside. Still, it is your car and its not like black leather won't look good - just not as good as the cream!! ;D

Looking at your E30 it is a very high spec car, isn't it. It even has the headlamp wipers - I love the way BMW did them on this era of cars.

Yes I think so, It has air con as well, we're currently trying to find an Air con pump that we can use with the M51.

Also (although you're probably already on it) get a new seal for the bottom of the tailgate window. Cheap new direct from BM and it might stave off the dreaded tailgate rot.
It is a very smart looking car. I had a Royalblau 320i touring and it was an great machine. Infact, I'd be tempted by another.

Cool. I've not been into Beemers, but I'm coming around to them, especially in retro Touring guise.
