Right long time no update! Car has had a few little bits done. Was helping a mate clear out his garage as he sold his mini too buy a VX220 (silly plastic car) an while doing so found some cooper mirrors the same colour as the car. These were very quickly stolen and fitted haha. Then I got myself a biit tidy and I was fed up with everything flying about. Then while at an Autojumble I found some small chrome VW hubcaps which I thought would look good on the bands. Look the parts but I couldnt not get them to stay on that great so this is still a work in progress. Then a new speedo with a rev counter and got some dial faces to match the colour of the car. Fitted them and realzsed cream faces with white needles was curse word as I could never tell how fast I was going. Some pink nail polish solved that! Here they are fitted in the new dash that I also sticker bombed. Not long after that the dash came out again as I no longer use the mini air vents I fitted some speakers to the back of the dash. Then while at an auto jumble I found not 1 but 2 of these little glove box shelfs from a mini special. Quite hard to find and I have seen these go for £50 on ebay. I bought the pair for £10 haha. sphotos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/150110_10151120777379848_1311006047_n.jpg/img]Will fit the other one I have to my other mini. Then I had an issue with getting a nasty puncher in one of my tyres which would not seal. Lucky I had these ultralights I picked up cheap that had some good tyres on. Now I hate minilites on minis as its so over done but I was desperate so on they went. sphotos-e.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/p206x206/311681_10151229662989848_302589490_n.jpgThen it was the week coming up to the gathering and I still had not got my new tyre so with 2 days left a crazy mad moment happened. If I really was to do the gathering on a set of minilights I may as well jazz them up. So a trip to Halfords happened and by friday evening my ultralights were bright pink. Earlyer in that week I had also picked up a bike rack so I could take my raleigh chopper to the gathering. So the pink wheels went on and the bike went on the roof. Heres a pic of me arriving at the campsite on the Saturday. Then on my way home stopped for a bit as my mate wanted to go somewhere his dad took him when he was young. Was a great spot for a cheeky photo! What else is there to say. I had an amazing weekend at the gathering. It was the first time I had done it and it will not be the last thats for sure! Met some really nice people and really cant wait for next year now. Best show of the year by far! I'll use this as a chance to say thanks to everyone who gives up there free time to organize it and just to say what a great job you did. Thanks for reading!

Update time! Had a slight rot issue. My drivers side door step and floor pan had just rusted though so at Castle Combe a few weeks back I picked up some fresh metal. As we speak the car is sat at my mates farm where the welding is being done. Should get it back on the road within a week. The MOT is of the 26th. Also bought a new tyre so the banded steels are back on! Also bought some wheel arches as well although I'm now not sure on them. I may sell them on and buy some new ones of the ones I have at the mo. If I do fit them I will space the wheels out more. Then just for the hell of it a pic of her next to my GFs metro. Thanks.

Looking great, like the pink wheels! Is that Lee's grey estate on the 1st page? Definitely think yours looks better with the smaller arches, those others look too fussy. Lovely Clubman

It is indeed! Thanks. Pinks wheels are off now though. Put the banded steel back on. Need to go though and sort all the pics out as they seem to have stopped working.

Had the new panels put on and it still failed the MOT.
Have standard to do the repairs. Done one wheel bearing and taking a shim out a ball joint. Need to do one other bearing and a steering rack gator and will get it retested ASAP

Well got her MOT'ed and have been driving her about. Not really done much to here really. I took the old heater out as it packed up earlier in the year but I never needed one so left it. Now its bloody cold I thought I better sort it. So now have a nice warm car now ha. Also bought my self a small sub for the boot. As said its not massive but then neither is the car. Just want to give it a slightly bigger kick. Lastly found this in th fast car write up for the retro rides gathering! Very happy indeed!

That looks ace!
Re the hubcaps. You can buy little brackets which pop rivet to the wheel and the cap clips on. They're actually for beetles!

Right new year means a new show season is on its way.Thought I better make an effort to smarten the car up a little. The inside of this car has always let it down so thought I would try and make it a nice place to be. I sold the low back buckets and bought some re trimmed mini seats. I got a cup holder! Yes i know I need to give the hand brake a repaint ha. Headlining kit with A,B and C pillars the bit of under the rear window and I also have some matching sun visors. Had this for ages now but have not got round to fitting it. Next up dash rails! I have re trimmed up them in cream with some black stitching along the front. Some new rear bin liners. New rear wheel arch covers. The stitching is cream. Need to order some soundproofing, carpets and mats and get everything fitted. Have found a slight bit of rust I need to get sorted before it all gets fitted though. Thats about it for now. Ta.

Thanks mate! Needs a few little bits sorted as its a bit crusty in places. It is my daily though and I do about 40 miles a day in it. Planning on sticking a new A panel on the passenger side and a new drivers side wing and front panel to get rid of the rust. Also need a new hinge panel and valance on the back as some C word hit the back of it then drove off!

Stripped all the dash out and then the soundproofing on the inside of the bulk head so I could undo the nuts that hold the dash rail in place. After doing so I found a huge hole next to the air vent on the drivers side. I had some plates to blank these with but after finding this I am just going to but it all out and weld it all up together. Which means the new interior has not gone it yet which sucks as I was so looking forward to getting it all in. Anyway its quite an awkward place to weld so a mate is going to do it for me. Gives me some time to order some new bits anyway. Heres a pic of the bit that needs sorting. Pic does make it look worse then it is.

Well I have had the rot sorted! So got the top dash rail in. Other thing was I wanted some Magnolia gauges to match my speedo. Now you can buy some but they are mega expensive. But you cant get a vacuum gauge in magnolia. But I had a load of black faced smith gauges so I got these new faces made to fit. Alot cheaper and means I can get what ever gauge I want. sphotos-f.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/560277_10151747248354848_1954384178_n.jpgReally pleased with them. Just need to get the gauges back together. Next up headlining. Dropping it off on Sunday to be done. Thanks.
