Excuse the time this is being posted, i cannot sleep whatsoever so i thought i'd do something useful before trying again. I'd like to know what these headlamp rings were originally off of? This was before the days of the innocenti mini, so logic would dictate that these were off of something british and 60s. Ideas? Thanks in advance!

Random stab in the dark, Wolseley hornet or some such?

My first thought is Austin Cambridge. Would make sense too, since they'd already be in the parts bin... but I'm not sure because the profile isn't perfect... unless you look at the older Cambridge. You're not the only one with an attack of the insomnia, I've been pestered with it all week... at least I have RR and the internet to entertain me in the wee small hours.

First thing that popped into my head was Triumph herald? I think they may be a little deeper, though.

They might also be Riley 1.5 Bob.

Riley 1500 gets my vote too.

I've got a pair lying somewhere, took them off an 1100 (ADO16), obviously were not original to that car. Not sure were they came from!! Could be 50's A55 as volksangyl suggested!

I don't think they are Wolseley 1500/Riley 1.5 as I think they are like this when they'v got peaked trims - there's a distinct kink. www.oldclassiccar.co.uk/photos-wales/19.jpgI think they are from a Morris Oxford Ser III or IV, like so.

Morris oxford SIII looks closest thus far. If you compare said image with: Looks almost spot on, what do you recon?

My first thought was Vanden Plas Princess 1100 or 1300, a pretty common mod in those days, but as usual, I was wrong. If you look at the grey Mini in the background, I'd say that those rims are from a VdP Princess. The rims in question do look very much like the Oxford S111, so I reckon you are right.

Christ, bit pricey for some headlamp rings.
Those oxford ones look pretty close, just need a second opinion really.
Whats availability like on them also?

The ones in the picture at the top of that link are indeed Riley ones (they have that kink), so perhaps the car in this thread has had them replaced with Oxford ones -maybe being the nearest thing that came up NOS during restoration?

Those later ones are the same as the hindustan oxfords, not enough peak: Although you might be right about riley 1.5 rings being used, i don't think they have been used on said mini, because as seth said, theres a distinct kink. I'm convinced from comparing those photos that its an oxford Series III, but i cant find any headlamp rings on ebay, do they happen to be rare?
