it looks like its been kept under water?' well, ive jsut bought one that actually has been under water it seems! spot the tide line- my ratlook pwns ur ratlook- so yeah, it smells like tramps, has been in a barn for approx 30. years, has animal mineral and vegetable residing in it (judging by the moss on the carpets and the rats nest on the underdash shelf anyway!!) all 4 brakes are locked sold, and its got a hole rusted straight through the boot lid! tomorrow, ile find out what its actually like. once ive shut the dog in there for a while to deal with any current 'residents' EDIT- I forgot to say, a massive thanks to scotty AKA movinghotrods for picking it up and conveying back to mine, and having to deal with the 'special needs' seller (he was slow even by zummerzet standards) who neglected to mention things like the flat tyres and all the brakes being locked solid!! I highly recommend his services

Crikey Dez. You said it was sight unseen, but that's rusty. Will it yield any parts?

Looks great So what's the plan? Hammer the brakes free, add gaffer tape and inner tubes then run it in for test? ;D

Slam, stance, rat-look legend!
The last time I saw a car as rusty as that was an MGB on the Isle of Wight

bmcnut- funny you should say that, there a sticker for the 'isle of wight weekly post' in the back window!!
so ive now bought two victors that lived on the isle of wight.
the rest of you- you'll have to wait and see what tomorrow brings! i bought it as a breaker- it was too cheap not to as its got all the trim with it, a resonable interior, and a full set of glass thats much better than mine. although ive got a mate whos VERY keen on saving it and doing as bmcnut suggests. at a very quick glance the bizarre victor horror spots like the airbox and A-pillar seem ok, just the 'usual' arch lips, sills and valance. once its fumigated ile go in and find out!!

That really would look immense with the bare minimum done to get it mot'd depending on how realistic it'd actually be

Blimey, that sticker has lasted a few years then - stopped in the mid-late 80's IIRC

Just found some pics of the IOW MGBGT in the family collection, would have been snapped whilst on holiday. The car was still there for a few years after these were taken (1998ish), but has now gone, probably dissolved. I can remember the backend being just as bad, seems we have no pics tho.

All things considered, it really doesn't look that bad. I say that in all seriousness too.

that MG reminds me of this one that car was very nice about ten year ago but it has not turned a wheel for a very long time, the door has opened itself due to the rust, poor thing.
