have had this a few weeks now so should probably stick a few pictures up. brought it off trademe (basically nz ebay) however it was 800km away. flew down to pick it up and drove it how over two days. relativly uneventfull trip (with the exception of one tyre deciding to go pear shaped, literally) got it home and gave it a good once over. no huge surprises, always knew it was a bit rough around the edges. had a wee mishap the other day when a hubcap flew off on the motorway and chopped the vavle stem off. result was instant flat tyre at 100km/h.....gave me a bit of a fright. its a 1971 2000 with 4 speed manual. pics from the trip home few pics once I got home right. plans for the thing. probably wont be to many peoples taste but its going to be low and with wide steels. got these made up, 15x8.5" for the back and 8" for the front. 205/50 tyres first test fit, looks like it all fits. have to run 10mm spacers on the front to clear the struts wheels will be painted some shade of brown, and suitable lowering applied to the car and todays effort, got sick of crappy looking bonnet, so $15 later....

A lovely ride you do have indeed! I do like a Triumph Estate . As for the wheel choice you should not be afraid of finding any purists here. They should suit the car pretty well if the above shots are anything to go by .

Thanks ;D I would say you can't paint them green, but as you're on the other side of the planet I'll let you off lol I think with the white car, you'll pretty much get away with any colour you want. Especially something like a green or brown. Actually, pretty much any 'pastel ish' colour will work IMO. My wheels were originally going to be blue! I've just noticed yours is just a straight 4speed. I'm guessing you'll be looking for an overdrive box to slot in to help with distances?

Cheers guys.
I don't have any problem with the straight 4 speed to be honest. No doubt an overdrive would be better on the open road but its not bothering me enough to track one down and do the swap.
Put my shorter springs in last night which has dropped in nicely. still running standard wheels so it looks filthy (not in a good way....). Couple of my steels had leaks so they are at the engineers getting fixed up. hopefully a week or so and I can have them on the car.
will get some pics tonight

haha yeh lower would be nice but its currently sitting on bumpstops up front (easy enough to trim down). cant wait to get wide wheels on, will loose a little bit more height with them as well.
