hi it was my mate with the civic that went up the hill. we were not told anything about it only being pre 90's cars only allowed up it. now it seems that we might have a problem because ive payed for 6 camping tickets with the intention of us all going up the the hill but 3 of the cars are post 2000 so it seems a bit unfair there was no mention of it last time but now ive spent £150 we carnt do the hill because they don't drive older cars.

jaggers - the hill will work the same as last year.
I have not said that its pre-90 only, these are my exact words from earlier in this thread ...
"We try and keep the cars going up the hill to pre '90."
As Claymore has said, if you are on a club stand you WILL be able to get up the hill. Similarly Retro Parking. If you are in general parking you won't. This is the same as last year, and is logistic driven.
If you went up the hill last year I'm guessing you are in a club, cos it sounds like you wont have been parked in Retro Parking?
Out of interest, what are the specific cars you are speaking about? If its some modern eurobox thats as stock as a rock you'll get parked in General Parking and it simply won't be possible to get across from one side of the venue (parking) to the other (the hill).
I can appreciate where you come from and you say its unfair that they might not be able to go up the hill .... but I think its pretty unfair that people come to a car show thats about retro cars and might then have to watch modern daily drivers go up the hill.
Finally, please bear in mind the the Retro Rides ethos always applies. Cool cars are always welcome, no matter what the year. You have to understand that due to the nature of the event we simply have to publicise a 'cut-off' date, it would be chaos if we didn't .... we just determine on the gate whether you're destined for General or Retro Parking.

Just to re-iterate : Club cars* = can get on track Retro Parking pre-1990/1 = can get on track Day Parking = cannot get on track This is (as Keith points out) a logistics thing for us, and obviously given the nature of the event we also want to see more old stuff go up the hill *we expect club stands to be predominantly older cars but some have moderns as that is the nature of the club

Seeing as I am not HoTWire I don't know his exact reasons, but the fact I wrote this might give you an idea ...
Sounds to me like he's asking you to help us so as we might be able to help you.

Just to let you know Jaggers, I don't know if you were still planning on joining the BH2N stand but it's limited to retro only I'm afraid mate.

I have a question to add if I may I seem to recall last year some cars were carrying passengers up the hill? Is there a minimum age requirement? My kids are begging me to take them up in the Vitesse

right been I a little busy in the workshop and I have a new pair of exhaust boxes which "should" quieten the the escort a little well at least at tickover anyway ;D ive also been playing about with the front end and think I have a little more lock so all being well I should be able to play on the hill . I will however be bringing the escort on a trailer now though as 8mpg max is gonna get expensive on a 400+ mile round trip . so my questions are is the brining a trailer bit same as last year for the campsite ei turn up unload and camp or do we have to do we have other plans in place and the other question is if the steering lock isn't enough can I have a push out of the kitty litter please ;D ;D
