Fantastic idea and fantastic thread.
Order placed - my mate owns an old style gentleman's barber in Woking - I'll take the tin in and see what he thinks.

Hey Kerry, got your message, I'll make sure a sticker is popped in your package.
I've made a run of glass jars of moustache wax, which has been suggested is more suited to barber shops or similar - I'll pop some pictures up. They are double the size of the tins, more suited for heavy usage!
Cheers chap.

Thought I'd update things since its now been exactly 1 month since I started this up properly. 100 sales in the first month. I'm over the moon. Had sales from USA, Australia, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Israel, Sri Lanka, Russia, Netherlands, and more that I cant remember off the top of my head. The supplier of moustache combs is a total pain in the backside, they simply cant be arsed to reply to me for 3 or 4 days at a time. But its all good - Ta to everyone on here for their suggestions and help, I'll be going through the thread again and looking at everything. Website was started again - it still needs finishing (can you see a pattern there!) but people are buying from it, so its all going ok. I've stocked up on stamps before the price increase, am trying to set up a business account with our lovely national letter delivery company, but they are being a royal pain. Just no organisation in that company, thats for sure! So I'm dead pleased - I'm about to buy a black cab as a runabout, so am going to plaster it in my logo.

Just considering my facial fungus at the moment, if I start growing now, it could be about right for the RR Gathering in August.....
In the meantime, have a tune.....

Fantastic. Really pleased to hear this is taking off. Great idea but more importantly, a brilliant attitude a lot of people could learn something from

I've also got reason to celebrate.. I've hit over 200 sales! Thats less than 2 months from starting up. I've got exactly a week left of the 2nd month, and am hoping for another 20 or so orders in the next week. I've had repeat orders too, and shedloads of good feedback. Product liability insurance is all done and dusted, packaging has been confirmed as acceptable under cosmetic packaging regulations, its all good. Getting prices for new stickers for the tins though. The current ones are ok, they are waterproof vinyl, but I want nicer quality gloss stickers, rather than the matt ones that I currently use. I'm going to look at getting the new cab sign-written too.

nice one well done!
out of interest, did you take out the liability insurance due to the bees wax and allergies? i'm curious as i am trying to get a set of products going and am now wondering if this is a prerequisite, although what i am doing is not anything you could be allergic to.

I took it out purely to cover myself, whatever happens. It wasnt really related to beeswax allergies, as its a tiny, tiny percentage of people who suffer - and its not on the same scale as peanut allergies etc, IE anaphylactic shock is unheard of. All the ingredients themselves are tested and safe, but should someone decide to swallow the lid or something, or smear it in their eyes, for the small cost it was it was well worth doing.
Legally you don't require anything. If you make it clear what the product contains, and that you are advising people to make sure they don't suffer from an allergic reaction, you are doing all that can be reasonably expected.

Your logo is so good that I had to buy one! Just put in my order for one tin to South Australia! Great price too. Best of luck with this venture. I'll post up some moustache pics once I get the goods.
