Well not much has happened due to work/life commitments but she currently is having some welding done. Sills/end sills/rear arch. Bought new screen/door rubbers cause she's a leaker. Plus got these bargains off eBay. 60s chrome bullet mirrors to replace the curse word plastic ones that came on the s3 £12 18" x 8" Range Rover rims et53 for £80 Problem is they foul the hubs and the centre bore is way off plus with the offset being wibblepoo I had gotwood from this here manor to whip me up some 25mm adapters/spacers. I'm going to a start back in anger come the new year. Get her ready for the season.

Plus got these bargains off eBay. now theres a reality check. so is the honeymoon period over, or are you still loving it? it does go to show, that even shiny/ tidy "looking" Jags can have a multitude of problems lurking. corrosion, everywhere and anywhere being the no.1 culprit of course. a through service i find is the best way to start off ownership of a new jag. good benchmark to set. but also a very thorough inspection under is paramount too. nothing really surpsies me now when it comes to bodging as all my cars have come with multitude of poor bodges. good luck with it anyhow, and try not to sell it once all the hard work is done! keep the pix coming

Great car ! Interested in your mods - looks like everything is working out well. Owned a 86 Jaguar XJ6 S3 VDP / bought from a guy who's wife always @!# about the car - needed some minor side lamp replacement and a crossover pump for the twin petrol tanks. REALLY ENJOYED the ride - truly Jag had produced "Grace / Pace and Space" with the XJ6. Had it @ 20 years - finally had to let it go cause the electrics were going bad - too much to redo the AC and needed at least one wire harness - worked great to the end - sorry to see her go.... (couple of mod this owner did (legal MoT ??) was to "straight pipe" the exhaust to the rear of the back wheels - with 4 mufflers, it seemed the engine was overly restricted - after the mod, the 2 front mufflers seemed to be more than adequate, but gave it a good "purr" - also used a foam / low restriction air filter instead of the paper and created more air flow by marking off and drilling additional holes in the top half of the air filter cylinder - kept the bottom intact in case of road spatter. Can't say scientifically the improvement in air flow and exhaust flow made it perform like a rocket, but it sure sounded better and when you "put the pedal to the metal", you could hear the air intake. Sweet ride - I miss her !!
