Professional Musician vs The Classic Car

i'm not a musician but i am a dj and i have got my speakers, lights, decks and all my cds and records into a metro, mk1 and 4 escorts, fiat cinquecento, sierra and a few others

one issue is happily leaving the car for several hours at night while you play - a few places where i have had to park (my admittedly better old cars) have left me worrying about them not being there when i got back, or having been broken into (happened to me more than once)

Re. insurance, I am not a full time musician so my trade goes down on the car insurance docs, the kit is insured seperatly and cost about £4.50 a month with £1000,000 of public liability cover and covers it in the car.

I'm a professional muso and have had classics for ages now. For absolute reliability and general value a Merc is hard to beat. My 190 has been a joy....I'd only change it for a bigger version of the same vintage. Do the odd gig in the Datsun.....though economic petrol use in that is not it's *ahem* strongest feature...
Insurance-have the Dato as a second car with the Merc as the main one. Assuming your getting one (to begin with) and you're teaching stick yourself down as a music teacher.
