its a chrome wheel paint. I cant remember the brand off the top of my head but I'll find out when I'm back in work on wednesday.
I'd like to go lower, alot lower but theres a hell of a lip ontop my drive and toyota in all their wisdom run the exhaust under the sump on these so they sit silly low. The only real way I could go lower and still have the car usable would be to re-route the exhaust which would be a nightmare

Well the good news is I still own this Its been a while since I've updated this thread but to be honest all I've done really is enjoy driving the car. Heres a quick breakdown of some of whats happened in the last 10 months I also had a game of kiss chase with a van. He pulled straight out of a junction infront of me and unfortunatly I just couldnt stop in time. On a positive side There was very little damage on the face of it, a scuff to the bumper and one destroyed side light. I was imagining it to be alot worse!! The strip down started to check for hidden damage and surprisingly everything came off really easily with no stubborn or snapped bolts. Pretty impressive for a 26 year old car. Drift spec for the drive home

armed with my shopping list consisting of one side light I hit ebay to find one. Success! Bought and paid for but failed to arrive. curse word. Lots of speaking to various people whilst keeping an eye on the internet wasnt throwing up any others so I rang the local main dealers on the off chance they might still be available. The guy on the phone confirmed his computer was showing UK stock of just one but didnt sound very confident that it would actually materialise but we placed the order and set the following Tuesday for delivery. Tuesday come and went and nothing arrived. Another call to the dealer and on the Wednesday and he confirmed my suspicion that it was probably a stock take over sight and they were no longer available. Double curse word! The car sat idle on my drive while I resumed my search with my mojo seriously starting to take a beating At this point I considered cutting my loses and buying something else until I could get a light. I even had the crazy idea of seeing if it would be possible to graft a mk1 mr2 front on (everybody loves pop up lights). One night whilst trawling ebay for bits I did a search for the lamp needed. Would you believe it, listed literally minutes before the right lamp, on a buy it now. Click, pay, mine!!!! The next day I had the day off and went to treat myself to some new clothes to celebrate I had a phone call off one of the lads in work, 'your lights arrived' I thought nothing of it until later in the day. Hang on! Thats some seriously impressive service from ebay, I only paid for it the night before and the courier was kicking the door in the next morning?! I called into work on my way home and guess what. Yep the main dealer had delivered the lamp I'd ordered weeks ago and been told wasnt available. The lads in work even kindly paid for it, £85. The following day my ebay lamp arrived, in its original dealer box, £17.50 delivered. So now I have a spare

Damn, its not fair to have a car so lovingly kept as a daily hit by a bloody van! At least the damage was minimal - did he pay out?
Sorry to be a pain, what was that wheel paint again, your image has stopped working - i promise to take a note of it this time!

With the car now back on the road I did nothing but continue enjoying it. The weather got cold More recently the weathers started to warm up (mildly)so I decided now was the time to start doing a few little bits that had been bugging me. The wipers were looking terrible so I gave them some love. Toyota very kindly marked them so I wouldnt put them back on the wrong way around no pics refitted but I'm sure you can use your imagination

It'll come to me....... Yep I was gutted when I hit the van. The lad was as good as gold and held his hands up straight away. We started the whole process of claiming but I chose not to proceed. He was in a works van and on his probation period so chances are would of lost his job. On top of that I had a feeling the insurance company would of written the corolla off which again I didnt want so I didn't proceed with it. He now owes me a pint or tweleve if I ever see him out.

That's decent of you - I guess with some skills and a sidelight not much damage has been done. Bet he couldn't believe his luck getting away with it!
My original MR2 interior was blue - after 5 years I couldn't take it any more and swapped all to black!

This kind of brings me to my latest updaTe........... The observant amoung you will notice the capital 't' up there, no I didnt accidentally slip and boff the cap lock on, it was that dreaded time when you've got an old motor, the MOT. A call was made to th guys who do my mot's and it had a lunch date for the same day. I topped up the washers, flashed the lights, beeped the horn and turned the hazards on. Success everythings working lets do it. In hindsight I probably should of put the original steels back on rather than leaving the banded steels on with silly amounts of poke and stretched tyres. A quick look on the work ramp underneath could of been a good idea too! Check the brake lines, the brakes and look for rusty bits the tester will hit like a fat kid in an arcade playing whack em. But I didnt. And in it goes. Oh and appologies for the rubbish pics. After much pushing, pulling, bashing, beeping and flashing Success!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh and the number of miles travelled in the last 12 months................................... For the lazy amoungst us thats 1051 miles

My original MR2 interior was blue - after 5 years I couldn't take it any more and swapped all to black! His attitude played a major part in my decision, had he been an idiot then I dare say things would of progressed in a different direction. It was near christmas and I was feeling the christmas spirit. Besides, you never know when I'll need a favour in return I had a white mr2 years ago with a blue interior, I didnt think it was that offensive to be honest. The name of the paint is doing my head in now

oh and the two lamps I ended up with Future plans *get the banded steels off and get them refurbed. The salty winter roads havent done them any justice. I've got a spare set of alloys tucked away which I originally bought for the corolla but changed my mind about so I'll sling some tyres on these and put them to use (see below) *I've got a pair of coilovers to go on the front so they need modfying to fit. I'd like to get something made up for the rear too. I've got a full set of spare top mounts ready *I'd like to get the engine bay tidied up. Nothing too extreme, I'm not talking about smoothed bays but just make it look a little nicer under the bonnet *enjoy driving the corolla more than I did last year ignore the coloured bands, they be staying all silver.

The swaps relatively straight forward on these. Its been done alot in asia where the ee80 has a huge following. From memory its moving one engine mount and then the wiring. I have contemplated it, theres a complete conversion on ebay at the mo for £300 but I bought it for its little engine so kind of defeats the object. Plus, touch wood I don't want to curse myself here, its as sweet as a nut. I've been on company insurance for the last ten years so have no no-claims and wanted something I could insure myself for peanuts darrenh a mind blowing 74bhp! but your right it pops along quite nicely zircon no probs, your welcome
