tbh I'm not having a arguement on this forum as I cant be botherd to waste my time. jt you came and had alook you said what you thort end off I don't agree with what you say but then you just don't get that its a old landrover................ maybe you came with this hope that it was gunna be mint but its not its good con for its age I should know as ive done a fair few landys as I said. cheers for you time..... and the brake problem is not dangeruss anyways it will be fixed after tonight so people will shut up about it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's hardly an arguement is it? And how can you disagree with what he said?! An interested buyer came to view based on your description, and found it to be lacking. He has added his tuppence in to clarify the decription (for the sake of others) and not once has he criticised you personally, and he even apologised when he didn't need to. If it were me, and I'd travelled 3hrs to view a vehicle and it had a potentially dangerous problem and body condition wasn't quite as described then I'd be pretty damn annoyed as well. My friends missus bought a car from a 'reputable' dealer a couple of years ago, started to drive it home, came off the motorway sliproad and the brakes completely failed due to a faultly servo which nearly killed her and her friend. So don't tell me it's not dangerous. I was watching this, and also on ebay as I really fancy a lightweight, it is good value for money despite the brake servo issue. But your attitude really isn't helping! How would you have felt if he'd bought the car then died in an accident due to the servo failing?

When all said and done its a 32 year old landie that was designed to be parachuted out of aircraft in military zones.! .... You are always going to be working on this , on a daily basis. In my line of business i see so many ebay 'bargains' which turn sour, even when they have a new mot, fsh, etc... but then fail to get the buyer home. You pays yer money (1600 seems cheap to me).. what one person calls good others may disagree... isnt it that the point you haggle the price to compensate for any faults and get a real bargain?!!

Went to buy this today, but.... Scott is a nice guy & the main chassis is good as he says, the bodywork is nice too, but the brake servo is leaking massively (a puddle & stripping chassis of underseal) & there are some little drivers side floor plan holes. It is not rust free (as he suggests) but largly rust free & it's clear work has been done to keep the main areas sorted. No disrespect to Scott at all, but at least there is more genuine info now for you to make your own decision. JT As I'm sure people know, we frown upon unwanted advice and opinion in for sale threads. I didn't see the previous version of this edited post but the current version seems like a polite and honest description that is aiming to give some first-hand knowledge rather than scupper any sale. In fact, if I were interested in the car, it wouldn't put me off at all...especially given that the seller is now saying that the brake servo is fixed. Good luck with the sale.

I know this is probably a daft couple of questions to be asking about a lightweight, but does it have a heater, is it capable of doing 70 on a motorway every now and then, and what sort of mpg do you get pottering around the countryside? One of these is for sale locally but it's the canvas top one, which I don't think I could put up with. I have had a 90 before and know these are basic, but a heater would be nice!
