100e = 107e w/ sidevalve. isnt that actually the other way round james? as in a 107e is a 100e with a pre/X, as the 100e existed first?

106E was LHD 105E. 307E and 309E were van versions of the 105E.

402e - 15cwt version of 400e (12cwt) 1600e (not quite the same numbering method I know, but I like them!) and whilst we're on that theme, have a bonus 2000e

The beautiful 109E: Al I restored /mildy customised that with /for my late friend Mick Behrens over a 3 year period . When he died 6 years back I sold it on his wifes behalf to Mike Tomlin who has continued to modify in the same theme and added some lovely touches. Looks good in the Southern France sunshine . It was a 64 GT ( one of only 2002 GTs made ) and Mick had owned it for around 30 years .

This is great, chaps! Thanks for the help. Why would different type of the same model be given different numbers? E.g. Mk1 Cortina 1200 is 113E, but a 1500 is 118E. Yet the Consul Classic and the Consul Capri, which look quite different to each other, are both 109E.

No, Rasberry Tart was built by Chris Smith, late 70's . This one had a Custom Car features about 10/11 years back though.

Not meaning to sound like a picky little b*stard here guys, but the consul classic is a 109e when fitted with the 1340cc OHV engine and it becomes a 116e (I think, not 100% on this bit) with the fitment of a 1500 'GT' engine. The 105e Anglia estate is known as a 123e, the same as the Consul Capri. Oh, and while we're at it, the 100e range (Anglia, Popular and Prefect) were all two-door saloons with the obvious exception of the 100e escort/squire, which was an estate. The 107e Prefect (I have one ) used the same body shell as the 100e, albeit with the addition of another set of doors and the running gear from a 105e Anglia. Hope that helps some
