I'd not be worried about the shortened pan
But then, it is one helluva cool, though just looked a the ebay add and I prefer it signwritten, but sans all the tat!

If that tat/signwriting was on the inside of a house, it would be called 'shabby chic', and a girl who says 'omg' too much would live there.
Much better without the bric-a-brac. I even quite like the rusty paint.

I'd not be worried about the shortened pan, I'd be more worried about the Tax Free Landy Reg without an actual Landy chassis really. But then, it is one helluva cool, though just looked a the ebay add and I prefer it signwritten, but sans all the tat! didn't check the dvla, but yes, you is right, shame, as it would have continued to be super sweet if correctly registered, now it's a liability 8(

I wasn't expecting that when I clicked the ad!!
Think I prefer it to the signwriting but would have preferred it just in the old paint.
Still really want it tho ;D

I thought superbug strut towers were integral to the inner guards - therefore would need to be supported by the landy body rather than floating?

where did the idea of it being a superbeetle come from? in the ebay ad it quite clearly states its got a narrowed beam, ergo normal bug pan.
and seeing as this thread links to a current for sale advert i think this is exactly the place to bring up the legalities of it- wouldnt want someone jumping in and buying it not understanding the full implications of it not being legally registered (if it isnt that is, but according to the DVLA, it isnt), when they are quite clearly known on this forum, as then it just become a very expensive pile of parts. its all a little odd really, youd think sticking it on a bug pan would be a really easy way to keep a legit ID as its basically just a body swap (providing the 'pan came from a previously registered and inspected SWB buggy of course......), but then chose to run it on the landy one instead?

Maybe the Bug wasn't tax exempt? Seems to be a fairly weak excuse to run illegally, saving £120 per year...

It's ok, I have informed DVLA that the registration number might be compromised and being used illegaly. As pointed out to me via my Escort, this is blatently a RINGER.

It's taken me a while to find the correct person inside the DVLA to contact, but after speaking to him indepth, he says if I see anything that might be untoward, then I can feel free to contact him, and he will investigate. After the threats I had with the Escort, I've made it my Perogitive to rain on everyones parade

Are you in full possession of the facts and details before doing this? Seems like quite a mean thing to do otherwise. What if it is legit?
