The turbo acts like a silencer. This is a good thing as the exhaust only has one box and it's straight through!

Few more pics. The car was restored body wise 7 years ago and has maybe done 750 miles since. My friend came over on Sunday and we worked our asses off. Throttle cable done / wires connected / ECU talking to laptop loads of little things which eat away at the day. Does it start?? Hope everyone else had a good weekend working on cars or drinking beer! Thanks

I have been working on the bonnet and now I have a hump. The little one has been removed as I managed to lower something on the engine. This is my modded up water housing so the rad pipe points the correct way. The last 3 pictures show the rad hose routing. I wanted to make this 1 pipe and forget about any leaks. I know it's long and see how I get along with it. Replaced the seats. I am moving these rearwards again since I have now sold the roll bar. TBH I thought it too risky having the bar near my head and no helmet. Maybe a custom cage one day? My bird plop welding. I will cleanup and add a cross brace. Stops the rad moving all around. OK that is where I am at now. Cheers

November update. I painted the garage with some left over paint so it's brighter with the new lights which I installed few months back. I wish I had a larger garage as many of you already know a single sucks. The handbrake might need adjustment and it needs ECU tuning which it's meant to be going for soon. Then it's ready for a MOT test. I fitted the seats again with some DIY seat rails as I was not happy how they got mounted before. The main beam switch packed up and the new one was a stupid £60. Total rip off for some of this stuff. Cheers

Great work getting it to fit, shame you've had to adjust the bonnet. That's what would put me off doing a swap on a spitfire

Really good project, i enjoyed my turbo spitfire but tuned it to much for the chassis (225bhp / stock chassis and brakes) but i still miss it. Good work be good to see how you get on with it in the real world as such!

Thanks guys, Main beam is fixed with new switch but then I found I had voltage but not enough amps/watts whatever to make anything work. The terminals at the fuse box needed cleaning up with flux. That's now sorted anything is working again. I had to tidy up the connections to the ignition switch. Fitted the big brake upgrade so now it should stop. The standard brake calipers with ebc greenstuff pads and drilled discs where good but with so much power they could not handle it so well. Some real hefty brakes you have there, i'll be keeping an eye out for how these work on yours as i'm considering the same for mine.

Some superb work there it has to be said. This thread certainly appears to be full of win! I am not surprised the stock items were iffy! Not only due to the power but also due to the Greenstuff pads IMO. IME they are useless, with my Spitfire being lethal in them even with a 1500 power plant and friend's Clio 172, where they were curse word, even on track! The Brembos are lovely, but I would be tempted to take the slider plates off and put some ceramic grease beneath them. Google Brembo plate lift .

That's the lump the Spitfire always should have had (if it were 15 years newer). Interested to see a video of it up and running and on the move when it's ready

Hey Mate Great conversion!!! I'm doing the same conversion myself at the moment but at this stage without the turbo. I was hoping I could ask a few questions about the electrical side of things. Did you use the clutch and brake switch inputs to the ECU? Love the big brakes and aftermarket gauges. I hope that diff holds up!!!! Cheers. any help would be appreciated.
