190E Australia is the official model designation and appears on the logbook. My last 2.0 series 1 didn't have it on there, so I don't know whether it's all 2.6 example, or a specific model...

Slapped my new street legal pressed 'plates on in their new AMG surrounds today, and a nice new set of four Dunlop winter tyres fitted... ...then I noticed the oil. The trans cooler pipe has rotted through and sprung a leak right behind the rad Ordered a new one from my local main stealer in exchange for me paying off the national debt of several small African countries, so that will be with me on Friday. Probably won't get a chance to fit it for a week or so though as I'm off on holiday, so I'll just have to keep my eye on it for a couple of days...

Tomorrow, on the way down to Oxford Street (sales shopping!!!), I shall drop my recently acquired set of four 7.5"x17" AMG Monoblocs down to BJV in Flaunden for refurbishing They did a set of cookie cutters for me a couple of years ago and I can definitely recommend them. Then I'll need some summer rubber in a 215/40 flavour. Plus I may slap some -40mm springs in too...

Gutted So the -40mm springs have been delivered, and I had the 215/40R17 Falken Ziex 914's fitted to the freshly refurbished (by BJV) AMG rims on Friday afternoon, all ready for the big swapover in a few weeks time. Then two hours later, a blind woman with her eyes closed reversed her MINI into the NSR corner while I was parked in an otherwise empty carpark at the city centre Luckily, she left a note, and her appallingly parked car in the space next to mine, but still with one wheel in the NEXT space! At first she wouldn't provide any details other than her phone number, and I had photos of her car, and she claimed it was just a scratch to my light. Actually, it's a smashed tail light, scuffed (almost to the metal) rear quarter below the indicator, and the rear bumper is scratched and scuffed on the textured unpainted section. She's come to her senses though, and her insurance company are providing me with an equivalent size automatic loan car (Insignia or similar), and letting me take it to whatever garage I want for repairs (it'll go to Mercedes Benz of Milton Keynes) with no excess to pay :-) Trouble is, it needs to be repaired soon as the MOT is due in a couple of weeks, and it wont pass with a smashed tail light...

Oh well that's just peachy, isn't it...
Not only am I waiting for the other driver's insurance company to give the go ahead for the repairs, which I need doing BEFORE the MOT at the end of the month, both front lower balljoints have now begun groaning away to themselves too! The local MB specialist has quoted £330 inc VAT to supply and fit these, plus a NSF shock top rubber mount, and to fit the lowering springs I already have. The joys of no longer having anywhere other than the road to work means balljoints are just something I can't tackle myself any more.
Oh, and the tax runs out at the end of the month too! It never rains, eh...

Yeah it's got an electric drivers seat, ABS, four electric windows, electric sunroof, 390mm leather steering wheel, and a Becker Grand Prix bluetooth head unit with iPod connectivity (front speakers only though - they need to be upgraded, but it's never had rears and that's how it's staying). Other than lowering and the monoblocs, it's probably gonna stay pretty stock...
