Its a great industry to be in at the moment, cash flow is the only thing that stops us growing faster than we are, 4 sweeps out working now and still losing work due to the waiting list we have.
I also train HETAS stove fitters and Guild of Master chimney Sweeps, sweeps so have plenty to keep me occupied.

All I've ever done is drive. Started on bikes as a dizzy, then went into armours for cash transit when I smashed myself up one too many times riding bikes on my head. Now my daily driver looks like this (please note fluffy dice for extra retro period cool points ;D); This is work Of a sort, lol. Still can't believe I get paid to do this! (apologies to anyone for any rubbish, cold, late, unpleasant, vomit-infested, cancelled or disrupted in any way train journey you may have ever had. Ever. It was probably my fault. Sorry) That looks very Thameslink. If it is I might have been on one of yours

Obviously I'm barred by terms of my contract from saying anything that may defame or discredit my employer in any way. Suffice to say in a hypothetical scenario I probably preferred Thameslink to how things are now (apologies to anyone for any rubbish, cold, late, unpleasant, vomit-infested, cancelled or disrupted in any way train journey you may have ever had. Ever. It was probably my fault. Sorry) So, you're the phantom vomiter on the St Pancras to Flitwick train are you??? lol, not me personally but I do seem to drive the train he/she are on quite frequently. You know that one where you run the entire length of the platform at, like City Thameslink or somewhere, like, long, and then the driver closes the doors when you're about five inches away from making it... and smiles at you as he pulls away? That's not me I try to increase the happiness quotient of the human race (and incidentally my own karma) by actually providing people with the service they want in as helpful a way as possible. I know it's a quaint, outdated concept nowadays, but I keep trying in the hope it'll one day come back into fashion

Chimney Sweep and chimney building/lining and solid fuel heating engineer, started my company 9 years ago and growing faster than I care to think about. Solid fuel is a huge growth area down South as well, every new build/ refurb i've been on lately has wanted a log burner.... Partly because people are realising how wasteful gas fires are.

Classic car restorer and general jobbing engineer, design and build almost anything, used to restore, build and prep vintage cars and do trackside support for vintage race cars, but then started my own business, casting a far wider net on the kind of stuff I get involved in, for example currently building a one off snowplough, a powerboat engine and restoring a Starion turbo and a Rover P4, also have a contract for servicing and repaiaring a large fleet of vans and several Plant repair contracts......
I did enjoy it for a long time but the hours are curse word the moneys sporadic and my boss is a curse word...
Currently retraining to be a a high school Physics teacher half the week, and the other half back in the workshop...

Rail Ops Manager of 22 years. Now a consultant in SE Asia for the last 5 years, trying to persuade local operators that they are there to run trains for passengers, not as a paying hobby. Like this:- You know that one where you run the entire length of the platform at, like City Thameslink or somewhere, like, long, and then the driver closes the doors when you're about five inches away from making it... and smiles at you as he pulls away? That's not me I try to increase the happiness quotient of the human race (and incidentally my own karma) by actually providing people with the service they want in as helpful a way as possible. I know it's a quaint, outdated concept nowadays, but I keep trying in the hope it'll one day come back into fashion I hope you're right!! Also try to influence the design engineers not to do silly things on new projects!
