Started this project about 4 years ago, the idea was to do a T16 replica. 4 years ago there weren't many people doing these, but now it appears they're all the rage! As you can see this one has the Evo 2 bodykit, it'll have an mi16 engine, bucket seats and a custom dash one day too, hopefully!!

4 years ago there was more than there is now, I was torn between the T16 kit and the Dimma kit 8 years ago, the Dimma kit won and althou I had some of the times of my life in it, it now resides in mums garage where it has for the last 6ish years
Some days you just need to take a grinder to an inanimate object, just to make your day a tiny bit better!!
thanks guys, well, since you asked elliot, i always wanted this to be as good as the original, but seeing as a furgussen 4x4 system is nearly impossible to come by, let alone afford, i thought my best bet would be to put an mi16 up front, that always leaves the space available at the back for something like a v6 Twin rad cutouts are already done). a 40/60 torque split would be ideal. gear ratios would have to be syncd as much as possible obviously, but ultimately just for rediculous power if both engines were turbod i could balance the car with front/back boost pressure adjustments from the cockpit. On tarmac it would be awsome, on the loose it would swap ends before you could say tree!! I may have funding issues with these plans though, so may take a while!!
Love that. Had a plan for something similar involving a volvo t5 engine in the back but at the moment its just a pipe dream along with various other ideas but I have always had a hankering for a 205. Does need a cage though or an engine it looks a bit naked in the back. Still a top car though well done.
Oh yes, I am loving that ;D saw one at the Coventry museum and took a load of photos with a view to doing a few touches like the front bumper and grille on mine. Sold now so I guess it'll have to wait until the next time I'm lucky enough to have one!!
Always fancied dropping the 205 body onto a Subaru Impreza floorplan........ Maybe one day!!
If the 4x4 trans box on the bx is the same as the 405x4 He is gonna need an mi x4 block as there is a special casting on there for the trans box.. The standard mi block can be modified but best have an orignal in my opinion. Then theres the gearbox and how it mounts to the trans box.
ah yeah running gear is a great deate! I looked into different 4x4 systems. the ford v6 mt75 will just fit, subaru wont, i don't think celica does either. the 205 has a short engine bay to wheel position compared to the above mr2 mk1 engine + running gear in the back is good in sofar as its the same pcd for wheels. The idea of having 2 engines came about because trying to squeeze 500 bhp out of 1 engine then transmit it through the mi4x4 system would probably cause a few probs, whereas 500bhp out of 2 engines would be much more reliable. 2nd. if i felt i wasnt brave enough to cut the rear end out, it wouldnt matter, i'd still have an mi16 205. Just as a foot note though, theres so much drag off the whailtail, it needs 400 bhp+ just to get over 70!!
If you go for just the front engined option Have a look at fitting the saab turbo 204 engine as it comes standard With all forged internals and is tuneable to 500 bhp with not a great lot of Money spent on it..
Gotta admit i was'nt expecting much when i seen the thread title (look at most 6R4 replicas) but that does look superb , needs something in the wheel department (thinking tarmac spec T16), V6 in the rear would be awesome (how hard would it be to clamshell the rear body ?), if i did stick with a front engine i'd box in the rear floor area with a metal frame and alluminium sheet to have people guessing
