What a lovely 155, still looking awesome! It seems to have a love-hate relationship with the ground though, it has to be annoying after a few times. I'm off to search for those Zender wheels on leboncoin, there's a car I know that uses 4x98, on which they would look fairly nice

Also I don't really drive it like it's that low, I could probably use some lessons in slow and careful The Zenders would look ace on the 222. Do it! In fact If I knew they were bound for that car I might even consider selling them. Right now they're on the missus' Punto! Have a pic* * the thread management reserve the right to photoshop any pics posted

I couldn't find any on leboncoin, they must be pretty rare! Even a Punto looks good on them, quite a feat that I don't have any Photoshop-compliant side shot of the 222, but since I really can't spend any money on wheels at the moment it's for the best really. As for driving enthusiastically, I can't blame you! With it being that low it must be riveted to the ground (oh wait)

I'm speechless, that's so cool it hurts. I can't even make that d*mn car drive, let alone make it look like this!
It's cool that you're bringing the 155 to RRG though, wedgy Italian stuff ftw.
(and I'll swap the wheels around, unbeknowst to you)

I'm on to you two. Sitting here looking at the Alfa right now actually, I drove it to work today. It's not at all practical with the massive front overhang (it scrapes [loudly] driving down perfectly flat roads and I had to take a completely different route in) but that splitter just looks so right! Good thing about it being here at work is that I can get the valeting guys to give her a long overdue clean and the seats and carpet a good shampoo. I'll try and get some pics since I don't have any interior shots on here - not that it's anything special - just for the sake of completeness.

I'll try and get some pics since I don't have any interior shots on here. Yeah I didn't do that. Well I did, but due to some sort of strange bright white/yellow/orange ball in the sky they didn't come out well at all. That and the fact that I use a telephone to take my pictures. Have a few outside shots instead. Did manage to get the valeting boys to sort the car out a bit, but I did the outside myself to save money so it looks curse word frankly! Actually I used some tar remover stuff on the paint and then didn't remove it properly so whenever I saw a pic of the car at Bromley Pageant the next day I could see it all over the bottom of the doors See? Anyway, was a great day out, got lots more pics ( see here), had a thoroughly good time. So anyway, right now the car looks like this: Why? Well because ghetto backyard refurb innit. You remember that Azev centre cap I replaced earlier in the thread? No? Well I did. And surprisingly I did a GREAT* job. These 3 centres were cake to remove. This one not so much Time for attackings then. Maybe a bit too much so? *evil laugh* Yeah I didn't do a fantastic job on them but I did get rid of the worst curb rash. More "improved" than "fixed" Had a fantastic plan involving business cards. That should do the trick. Worked much better than tape or washing up liquid actually. Will do again. RED Got a little distracted by steak and booze. And then Surprise Gold! Yeah the red is primer Then a bit of lacquer and some marmitey centre caps. Not entirely convinced, waiting to see them on the car. Now you're up to date.

Crummy pic from this morning: Went on a blast yesterday and am missing 2 centre caps already (both on same side for some reason). Not sure if I'll replace with two more of the same or if I'll go for a different design, but I'll probably try my luck with asking the seller to send more for free and if I need to pay to replace then I'll go for something else.

YES to the wheels / colour (was it not my idea? ) NO to the centre caps, imo.. Thanks for the opinion, thought you'd say that! Gold was always the plan for these so don't flatter yourself I'm leaning toward the idea of getting rid of the caps but it's tricky to find something tasteful and the right colour. Alfa badges in black and gold - or maybe gold Azev logos on a black background are the only thing I can think of that might be okay but that would be a custom jobbie. If I'm doing something custom I'm thinking I should come up with something better than that so am open to any ideas.

Gold wheels definitely work on this. As for centre caps why not a simplified version on the Alfa Romeo logo, a quick google and I found this....

Gold was always the plan for these so don't flatter yourself As for centre caps why not a simplified version on the Alfa Romeo logo Alfa badges in black and gold Like your thinking, but the simplified version just looks like someone has tried to do it by memory and forgotten bits! That or they are trying not to infringe copyright - like one of those Chinese cars that look identical to those produced in Europe only with a 1990 Corolla underneath and the name is one letter different. Anyway, the Ebay seller was very kind and sent me new badges for free - which was nice. But since I'm not too keen on them now that I've seen them on the car I'll be spraying them satin black before sticking them on. I think less is more in this case. Thanks for the comments, it's really nice to be driving this car again.

Just a minor update with some pics of how the centres ended up. Not really a big deal I know, but after quite a bit of fannying around with these things it has sort of become one. Anyway, I always find that these minor aesthetic touches are what makes the car rather than the mechanical stuff which I've not really given as much coverage to in here (also this car has been really easy to maintain so I've not had to do much). So this is exactly how I found the car just before my last post above. Not staged in any way, literally walked outside to see this: Fell off overnight despite me fitting them in warm temps indoors using standard centre cap fitting protocol. Which was clearly a divine signal indicating centre cap crimes had been committed and they must not go back on. So I drove around without any for a bit before the eBay seller very kindly sent me more for no charge. During this window of time, SWMBO did a baby. Here is a heartwarming photo taken in the hospital car park much to the dismay of my ever patient lady. First ride in a car ever and it's a 155 with no centre caps. Oh the humanity. Got them delivered and chucked some satin black at them pronto (note the super bonding gluey stuff and paint prep wipes - these shouldn't be coming off). And that's it really. Weak update is a bit weak. Not much else to report other than excellent fun times behind the wheel and super reliableness on a daily basis. Thanks for checking in though, I'll try to make the next update a bit more interesting (not promising anything). I'll leave you with a (nother phone) pic from daily duty - since you can never have too many pics - right?

Hi de ho RRers. This month I are mostly well excite. Thing is, as I'm sure most of you have noticed from the pics, this car isn't the last word in immaculate polished show cars. In fact I'd be so bold as to say she's a little scruffy*. For example the back bumper looks like this: Actually it was A LOT worse because some special* soul had covered it in touch up paint. Gold paint. Applied using a potato. But yeah, I took some thinners to it and it looks much better here. Then there are the front bumper corners: There are bits and pieces all over the car actually, but those are the worst of it. So... And then we (er he actually) hit the other end: It has all come out really nicely. Its still a slightly tatty old Alfa in every sense but it is a massive improvement and I'm very happy with the paint match and the standard of work. If anyone needs a Smart Repairer in the Surrey area I'd recommend my mate Kirk. PM me if you want his details. Here are one or two phone pics I took afterwards, but they don't really do it justice since the rest of the car is filthy, covered in flies, needs some heat gun action etc etc. Need to get a few bits n' bobs sorted before RRG, get the spacers on the back, get the camber sorted, do the alignment and maybe sort some engine spacers/sump guard action. Although maybe the last bit can wait - not long to go now!
