Wiow, I can't believe one of those had even made it to Australia! Hope the RHD conversion was well done or had it been factory built for another RHD market (they were never sold here new). Radical front conversion, looking forward to seeing that new front structure.
Wow, words fail me on this one. If you think what youre doing is good enoughto sho w on a forum I cant even begin to explain where youre going wrong, other than absolutely everything youve done needs chopping out. You needs to go do a LOT of readingbefore trying to progress any further with this. Id elaborate but I'm on my phone and replying is difficult. I'm sure others can step in and explain... .
It worries me that people are commenting that its awesome. At least it'll be low, couple of weeks on the road to give it time for the welds holding the "chassis legs" onto the old chassis and it'll collapse till the struts hit the bonnet.
Seriously, as Dez says go read up on the subject, go to a few drag meets and look at some tube front ends etc and start again. What you've done there is so far past the realm of "dangerously unsafe" it can't be saved.
Just like your supercharged Herald it is quite obvious this will turn into a thing of wonder. I can't wait for you to finish the mock up and start putting this together, who would have thought a BMW 4.4 V8 in a Ford?
I can't wait to see this build thread, and move towards completion, good luck and god speed!

As a fellow Taunus RS owner I will be watching this with interest! I'm thinking this was the one on eBay not long back that was part way through a Zetec destined conversion? It certainly looks like the one anyway? I'm just glad to see someone saving it from that.....these cars really do need a v6 or v8 imo! Good luck with it. Looks set to be a real monster!
Makes me wish Ford had made a mk1/2 Cortina coupé or hardtop with that roofline. Rather sad it received such radical revisions to the original structure, though looks like it should be solid now, & better access for maintenance.
