Apart from my 2.3-16, which was an amazing and most rewarding car to drive. God I miss that car.
Mine has to be my Porsche 944 Turbo. It was modded and tuned to within a whisker of it's life. So bloody fast it was scary. The thing would pop bang and spit flames from the exhaust on the over run. It would break traction and go sideways when floored at motorway speeds in fith gear. So much fun
I never came across another car that could cope with it. Scoobies, Lancers, TVR's, even the odd Bentley and Ferrari got shown the weeds
I really do miss that car just as much as my valver.

My Range Rover. I absolutely loved this car to bits and really do miss it. Sad I know, but there you go. I had so much fun driving it all around the green lanes of Derbyshire. Some very difficult lanes too such as Stanage Edge, which it took in it's stride and shrugged them off. It was supreamley comfortable even over the harshest of lanes/surfaces. Lovely seats with armrests both sides. My mate had a series 2 landy at the same time and it was a horrific thing to drive and so uncomfortable and bouncy. He loved being a passenger in and driving the rangey off road. But it was also fabulous on road. So smooth and powerful and you had the lovely sound from the V8 B) I MUST have another one soon !!

my boss when i was about 17 had a mk4 escort van,and to this day it is still one of the quickest things i've ever been in!it had a tuned rs turbo lump in and i remember when a saph cossie pulled up alongside us with the driver and his mate laughing at the van with a bodykit and alloys...his face was a picture when he got his served to him on a cvh platter!the torque steer was ridiculous but the noise and acceleration was amazing!

Out of all the cars Ive had for the sheer fun it has to be my Venny II No modifcations apart from lower profile tyres, Cosmic allys, and a grumble moddded exhaust But for running rubber 'elevens' or doughnuts, it just made me laugh so much Just opening the door and smelling the vinyl and oil whiff And having teenagers to old men coming to me and drooling over it It was without doubt the best car Ive ever had. 2 years of toil rebuilding her, probably gave me this massive affection I had for her, I'm going to get very weepy now.

Mine has to be a Renault 21 turbo. was about 200bhp, freshly built engine. and it scared the day lights out of me. All the weight up front.
I drove it home slowly, and quickly removed the engine as I broke it.

I love my Polo. It's not quick, by any means, but when you put the boot on down the lanes, it just puts a massive smile on your face. The exhaust sounds great, it grips like nothing else, and the tiny little engine just begs to be revved.
My good friend Jason, used to have a Saxo. It was a total shed really, but with a VTR engine, full stainless exhaust system, fast road cam and head work it had the power, no interior meant it was light and LOUD, and the Gaz coilys seemed to make it grip amazingly.
When you lost it, you really lost it. I've never known a FWD car so tail happy as that little shed. It was mostly unbearable, being his daily driver, but take it down a country lane with a heavy foot, and you were in for a white knuckle ride. Fab car

My old Polo G40 - It ran a full blend charger and it had toothed belts, the sound was hypnotic - I couldnt get enough of it. It ran 185bhp on the rollers. But everytime I drove it hard - something broke. So it was very much love/hate - J710KLW I still miss you!

My MG Montego turbo G81 FWP with a full tickford body kit everyone laughed and took the curse word when I bought for £550 with a blown turbo. I was about 19 or 20 at the time and all my mates had 3 door golfs escorts or astras at the time but they didn't laugh for long when they got left standing on numerous occasions by a 4 door family salon

So bloody fast it was scary. The thing would pop bang and spit flames from the exhaust on the over run. It would break traction and go sideways when floored at motorway speeds in fith gear. So much fun I never came across another car that could cope with it. Scoobies, Lancers, TVR's, even the odd Bentley and Ferrari got shown the weeds I really do miss that car just as much as my valver. Oddly enough my 944 Turbo has to be the biggest thrill. Off boost a milk float would have given it a hard time in all honesty! When it came in however, the acceleration, the sensation of being forced into your seat was superb. The KWv3s on that blew my mind away with what I thought a 944 Chassis would do! If I am honest the grip of the car did scare me! I did almost lose it a couple of times, and Christ that car took no prisoners! There has to be a price to pay for all that grip I guess: I never thought I would say this. Whilst my Pug 205 was the best thrill I have ever had out of a hot hatch I think the Clio 172 has usurped it! The steering is a touch lifeless admittedly but what a chassis! It does almost everything the old French chassis did with Lift off oversteer, very good turn in and sharp handling and more. It just seems to grip and grip! On a country road I forgot just how good hot hatches are. With around 180BHP this car is a joy to drive for what it owes me! It even has some of the old French character, from the soft(ish) engine mounts, poor plastics in places and general Frenchness. The last of the great French hot hatches? I reckon so, although the 197s are meant to be a hoot! The Escort since all the changes is now getting there I am glad to say. It is a laugh to drive this car! Despite all of the suspension mods the Clio initially showed this car a clean pair of heels. With all of the work done it is slowly coming towards the Escort's favour. It is more fun than the Clio in a different way (it's raw, it struggles to grip and it now has become a very good handler!). However, I am being patient with its limits, probably in part to its condition. IMO that plays a big part of enjoying a car; something which you are not massively worried about and something that is very clean: Out of the lot? It probably is a close call between the Clio and the Porsche. Yet I wish to take the Escort to Spa or the 'Ring more than either of them...

Nice and simple for me.
My 1987 mk2 golf 1.3 four speed.
I don't have any pics to hand, it was a poverty spec 1.3 two door, got given it for nothing.
Lowered it, polybushed it, mk2 gti steelies, 16v brakes, massaged the head a bit when I did the head gasket.
It wasn't superbly fast - went round corners perfectly, could thunder along at 80 with everyone else on the motorway and cost me less than £600.
Did about a million miles and then sold it for a profit to someone who wrote it off within a week. :-(
No car ive driven before or since gave me more of a buzz - maybe I was young and silly, but if it was still with us Id have it back in a heartbeat. :-)
EDIT - I did drive a 911 twin turbo once - one of the last air cooled ones ( P reg ? ) That was very bloody exciting, but you feel like you cant really DRIVE it... not enough road ! :-D

I am gutted that I got rid of the Porsche, make no mistake but we cannot hoard them all. There are certain unique things the 944 delivered on, but then the RST has a charm of its own. The same can be said for almost any retro. A Citroen DS is no sports car but WOW, what an experience to drive, it is something the press did not justify enough! That can be said for so many cars though .
