Right, I've reached the end of my tether so I'm giving someone the chance to do the honourable thing and take this off my hands before I do something I'll regret.
MoT: November 2013
Tax: May 2013
Miles: 20-something on the clock.
Price: £950 ONO, or part-ex/swaps
The Good:
RS Turbo lump. Piper cam, hybrid Cossie/Saab turbo, Seat Leon FMIC, -31 actuator, bleed valve, uprated clutch, 3-inch stainless exhaust etc. Good for 200bhp when running.
Sapphire Cosworth Recaros up front.
Four new tyres.
Lowered on uprated springs with adjustable shocks.
Long MoT and tax.
Resprayed this summer by a bodyshop. It's filthy in these photos but still looks good, but I'm not about to wash a broken car in the cold so you'll have to use your imagination as to how thoroughly great it will look polished up.
Seems very solid, especially for an 80s Ford! Few thin bits in the boot area, but generally very, very good.
The Bad:
It doesn't work. I bought it with an issue with it overfuelling. Since getting it trailered home it hasn't fired up. I've gone through all the usual checks with ignition, new plugs, rotor arm, relays etc etc. I thought the initial poor running was due to an iffy metering head, an air leak or a knack'd swirl pot in the tank, but I literally have no money to spend on chasing these faults and, as this is my only form of transport (well, intended transport), I'm stuck between a rock and a hard, broken place.
Interior is a bit grubby and the windows are slow.
I stupidly left the paperwork behind with the chap I bought it from in Kent. I'll hopefully have this along soon, otherwise it won't be hard to get duplicate copies of important bits (MoT and V5).
This is a spur of the moment thing as I'm jolly annoyed and somewhat at a loss, but I'll leave the ad up for a week or so and if I've had no interest then the tax will be cashed in and it will be broken for parts.
I would be interested in part-ex's or swaps for something with T&T, but I have literally not a penny to put into any deal.
You'd think it would be obvious, but clearly this has to be trailered away.
