These wheels are now SOLD - thank you to all those that expressed an interest (and there were quite a few of you too!)
Vital stats:
Wheel: Compomotive TH Mono
Size: 8x15" ET0
PCD: 4x108
I personally have never ever seen a set like this before. I bought them for my Lotus but know I won't get around to doing anything with them for a good year or so. I really don't want to sell them, but equally need to free up some cash right now so I've made my decision.
They are the amazing Compomotive TH style wheels but with a special twist...they have a much deeper dish. They look AWESOME in the flesh!
I know I'll probably never be able to find another set like them and also know that once they've been polished up (which is what I was going to do to them), they'll look absolutely stunning!! But needs must...
I've had a good look for details of another set, but cannot find any info on TH wheels other than the standard, flatter faced ones. Google searching under group 4 rally, TH motorsport...and various other searches have not got me any closer to finding another set.
With that in mind I am confident in saying they are rare. Not 'eBay rare' - these are *genuinely* rare!!
I bought them from Welshpug just over a month ago and you can see the original advert from him here: retrorides.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=pfsw&action=display&thread=143010
They do have a few flat spots on the back of the wheels - I'll try and get some photos to show this but they are hard to spot. They aren't bad enough to have caused me any concern and I was more happy to buy the wheels with the intention of fitting them to the Lotus. I would have removed the flat spots when I refurbished the wheels, as I say, they aren't bad but I thought it best to mention it. Obviously, I only bought them a month ago and haven't got around to starting a refurb yet, let alone finishing it. The wheels are exactly as I bought them from Welshpug....
A set of these wheels refurbed and polished, knowing how rare they are and how much the VW boys, Wheels Whores and Edition 38 lot love unusual wheels (as well as TH mono's), I confidently guess these would sell for about £700 quite easily. Having sold a number of wheels on E38 and Wheel Whores at this kind of price, I know what I'm talking about when it comes to wheel prices on those sites.
Bang them straight on there 'as they are' for £400 and they'll sell, making a nice easy profit. Refurbish them, use them on your own car then sell them on for big money...the choices are there!
So how much am I looking for? As advertised before: £280 or very near offer. 'Normal' sets sell for £500+ all day long. At £280, someone is getting an absolute bargain!
Delivery can be arranged or please feel free to arrange collection from Bristol (Area 52) where tea is always supplied.
