HOLE! C.A.D. BE GONE SHED STATUS: REVOKED (spot clue as to cars last outing in this pic.... those that know.....) This is going to need more than a vacuum. Sooooo those are the pictures Ive taken. What Ive actually done is the welding that needed doing for the MOT. Attempted to vacuum out the interior (ha! going to need something more powerful). Fitted the "good" interior apart from the front seats (one still needs liberating and merging with my other drivers seat, as the frame is bent to hell from the kurashu), and generally de-shedified the interior. Monza rear benches are a bit of a fiddle to go back in apparently but I got there in the end. I don't understand this whole putting-interiors-back-in thing! But really happy with the results (pictures to come) The fuel tank is off. These are a notorious rot spot and the bent car has a reconditioned one on it, so they are being swapped. Good job too as its allowed me to do some pre-emptive rot treatment around the back end. What remains of the exhaust is removed also. Project for this weekend...... engine and gearbox swap! and hopefully front suspension swap and rear subframe removal. Again, monzas love to rot their trailing arms and the bent car has fully repaired items on there! Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee I'm happy I'm not rushing, I'm just enjoying putting it together

Good to see the progress on this/these. It is a shame about VLA. 'Twas a good car, but at least it was being used and not left in a field.

Yeah Id be dead chuffed with YNK if it werent for the quality of work done on VLA! Was really nicely done! Righty-ho 12v S6 engines arent the lightest, so with the help of HC we managed to extract the old one from its no-longer-square hole. I think the car knew that having a running engine was its last chance to live as it kept biting me! Managed to smack my face on a sharp piece of bumper as well. Anyhooo, some of this..... followed by some of this..... ....meant the engine went in surprisingly easily for such a loooong lump. We had just enough time to bolt the engine in place and then plonk the bonnet on top before it was time for end-of-weekend pie. mmmmmmm pie. Still lots to do! Not helped by the captive but adjustable bonnet plate (held within a cavity of the bonnet) decided it didnt like being captive and has rattled off into the panel. Thatll be fun to fix! LOL Lots of plugging in / bolting up to do, and some wiring repairs, and swapping the rear subframe, and the front suspension, and the passenger door, and getting an MOT..... errr I best get a wiggle on!

Thought about using VLA to make a matching trailer...? ;D ;D ;D Only 1 qtr panel is remotely straight, and thats having the arch cut out of it to rescue another Monza..... meaning there with be no straight unmolested panels left on the entire shell! So that wouldnt really be a viable option heh.

Progress has slowed a bit. Putting the 12v in a strained a muscle in my chest and crawling around underneath the car isnt fun so its slowed me down. Thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it Rear subframe is off the donor as is the fuel tank. When they are on the straight car its a matter of front legs, wiring / plumb, MOT! TOOT!

No pictures as of yet, but this project is still rolling. Ive just been pottering away, its been good fun doing stuff at a relaxed pace, but some shows are soon upon us! Last jobs to do for this weekend..... -Do some more welding (spoke too soon on being rust free! haha! The rear shock mount was hiding a lot of grot under some underseal and dirt) -Fit the front suspension -Bleed the brakes -Wire the fuel pump in properly -Make a battery clamp Then it can go for its MOT It'll be getting repainted soon as the paint on it is toast, lots of scratches, filler, blown in sections etc. Not until I repaired the drivers door though! Heres a not very subtle clue to the colour.... Also bought some wheels for it off of PhilJ They need a slight refurb but should be awesome Then I need to shorten the spare front struts and do the Omega 3.0 brake conversion LOTS TO DO!

This weekend didnt quite go as hoped. I only had a day at it, and swapping the front legs took me seemingly forever! So the legs are swapped..... the brakes don't want to bleed.... didnt do the welding.... did solder up the fuel pump wiring! I did then however, whilst trying to shut a disobedient electric window, kill all the electrics. Ive checked every fuse and they are all fine, soo I have no idea whats going on there..... more investigation needed! Anyhow... pics! Struts new (Gaz dampers, H&R Springs) vs old (shonk) MMMMM this brake fluid is in perfect condition with no water in it at all. The remaining rust The HWheels test fit (terrible pic) Yeaaaaaaaaaaah Really want to make the Retro Show in this!

Was good to see this at the weekend - hope the rest of the work goes well. If you've not sorted the magic smoke conduits by the weekend when Rich is doing exhausts I'm more than happy to lend a hand with the fault-finding.
