Veru intresting. Is it a competing DTM car? The stocker looks well diffrent, but i can see quite the potential in that one too. The Curse word the looks the better i like them lately MTX has some NSX and some saleen clues, but looks like a complete no frills experience. Interiors from here look like those of a model car LOL

Veru intresting. Is it a competing DTM car? In it's original form (the pictures with the red bodywork) it was built in 1986 on a shortened and lowered T-700 chassis with low drag bodywork by the Ecorra coachbuilding company for Tatra for a successful attempt at the Czech Land Speed Record (320km/h, 0-100km/h in 3 seconds): www.ecorra.com/en/galerie/preview.php?id_gal=30After that, it was retired to Tatra's technical museum until 2000, when the Tatra 603 Team (brothers Stanislav, Zdenek and Jaromir Hajdušková, who were already well-known in the Czech Republic for their exploits racing Tatras) managed to persuade Tatra to sell the rolling chassis to them for use in the Czech domestic racing series. It was fitted with a race-modified 4.5L Tatra 613 engine that makes 400bhp It also has a custom made 6-speed sequential gearbox built into a standard T613 gearbox casing. The bodywork has evolved during it's racing career into the black, wide-arched DTM-style seen in the later pictures. The Tatra 603 Team is so-named as they started out racing Tatra 603s. They were invited over to the Goodwood Revival in 2010 and 2012, and brought one of their 'historic'-spec 603s to race: Unfortunately, the economic conditions last year severely curtailed their racing programme, so both the 603 and Ecorra V8 Sport only made a handful of appearances at the circuits between them. translate.google.co.uk/translate?hl=en&sl=cs&u=http://www.tatra603team.cz/&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dtatra%2B603%2Bteam%26hl%3Den%26biw%3D1052%26bih%3D611&sa=X&ei=wgRrUaHmFZSk0AXi9IHIAQ&ved=0CDIQ7gEwAA

Wow, that old 603 has got some pipes I'd love to hear the quad cam air cooled v8 in real life.

Those pipes are the cooling system, to replace the twin belt-driven fans shown on one of the engines earlier in the thread, freeing up vital horsepower.
When moving, the megaphone shape combined with the partial vacuum behind the car draw air through the engine's cooling fins. When stationary, the engine's exhaust pipes - which are directed into the narrow end - draw air through.
I understand that that particular 603's cooling system is a replica of one used in period racing, with only photographs of the original having survived.

Nice!
I don't believe the Tatra 603 engine was reverse engineered by Ford, that looks more like an engine being tuned up in a Ford garage. That one's from a car, you can see the two twin barrel carbs on it. The one that's photographed in parts is from a T805 truck, it's only got a single twin carb on it.
The Tatra engines sound great even when standard but with fruity exhausts they sound really special, my 613 had free flowing silencers and was great when you open the taps, my 603 had standard exhausts and it was the noise from the fans that dominated once the revs rise.
