Hey guys. Am new to this forum. Have signed up as I keep seeing links to this site from other forums I usually frequent. And like the variety of stuff on here
Am predominently a Ford man, but do appreciate all makes and marques so this seems like the place to be ;D
Anyways, thought i'd pop some pics of my 2 little babies in here.
The first being a 1983 Fiesta XR2, have owned her since 2007 but she underwent full restoration last year. (She'd been off the road since August 2010)
From this ....
To this ....
She is supposedly my Comfy, well behaved, easy to drive and "Reliable" Classic
Which brings me to my Moneypit! ....
This is my 1978 Escort Mexico (which as you will read, is to be my balls out, horrible to drive, uses too much fuel but puts a smile on your face Classic ;D)
Bought her in June 2009, had 1 and a half good years with her till she started playing up .....
She WAS running a 2.1 pinto on twin 45s, but I was getting fed up with her breaking all the while, so she is currently having a 2.3 all steel pinto on twin 48s built up (which is why the front end is currently sat so high )
(the eagle eyes may have noticed the red buckets have since gone and been replaced with standard rolltops, I much prefer it this way )
The new engine is based on a thick walled 202 block, 84mm stroke Farndon Steel Crank, 94mm Forged pistons and steel rods... have got a Tran X SCCR Type 9 to mate it up too when its finished. Am hoping for the right side of 200bhp, and somewhere in the low 13s/high 12s on the strip.
Car already has a few other goodies on (3.77 plate type LSD, Full Safety Devices Cage, Princess 4 Pots, Group 1 Bilstein Coilovers etc etc) so should be well set up to take the power, and hopefully wont break every 5 minutes
Here is a couple of them together during the brief time they were both roadworthy at the same time
Hopefully wont be too long till they're both going again!
Anyways, think thats enough waffle for now. Hope you like, and look forward to seeing what everyone else is up to on here (should keep me busy on the long night shifts anyway ;D)
cheers
