^^ Wonderful words, thanks a million... Well, MEL is back on the road (last used in September!) and I forgot how slow/noisy/draughty/rattly/smelly the old tank is!!! You know what though, I love it... The plans are to get to work on making it solid and shiny again and I've got some old pictures in its history file that shows how ruddy good it can look whence it was tidy as it were!!! This is my inspiration... retrorides.proboards.com/thread/35260/1972-triumph-toledo?page=5...and I hope that my Toledo is as good as that one day very soon... I think the first step is to get to work on cleaning it up and making it look as good as it can as it stands... After that a bit of grot needs to be chopped out and we'll go from there! This car has seen me well and I owe it more than any other car I've ever owned... This is a keeper and I need to be able to use it! Watch this space folks...

So, watch this space I said eh...?! What an overblown sign off if ever I read one...!!!
I've been using the car regularly and it's never failed to make me smile.
However, very recently things have become just a little bit more vibration tinged than usual!
It appears that my prop' shaft isn't doing its thing properly and its sending shockwaves through the car that are jiggling me about like gooness knows what. This WILL be fixed soon!
With regards to the bodywork things just don't fix themselves so it's not looking any better than it did a few months back.
I vow to make this year the year where I knock this old thing back into some sort of tidy shape!
The more I keep talking about it the more guilty I feel about not doing anything so I need to start channeling that into a bit of action I feel.
Until then a new Magic Tree every month is about as frivolous as things are getting!!!
This motor will be shiny and solid again at some juncture.

Although you havent made any progress as of yet, atleast you have been using her regularly. And it wasn't put to the side and forgotten. Which in its self is a great thing so don't feel too down heartened. And your fixings issues that occur which also no bad thing. Once you sorted out the prop issue you can pour all your money into body work lol
Ps I shall continue to watch this space.

For all those people that have been watching my space (and I doubt there were many of you!) I apologise...
The Toledo was last used in August of last year as it made it to the wonderful Cranleigh Classic Car Show but did not make it back without the assistance of a recovery truck! I wasn't too pleased with that part of things but the folks at the local pub gave me a cheer which was nice(ish)...!!!
So, the poor old brute has been sitting idle since that very day and it's not looking great for it! Having said that my Toledo wasn't the best car looks wise when I purchased it...
Tomorrow I hope that will all change though as a very helpful chap from the Triumph Dolomite Forum is going to come and fix the car and get it back on the move again! I love the willingness of people on classic car forums...
The problem with the car was a rusted part of the subframe which just pulled apart when trying to leave the aforementioned car show! Tomorrow this will be fixed and I am hoping this will get MEL back on the road and providing me with miles of BL constructed smiles...
So, I do hope to have some more pictures and information for you soon.
I just can't wait to get behind the wheel again, well not just 'sitting' behind it making broommmm-broommmm noises at least...!
