So cool with a V8 powered minitruck, even more fun that you didn't go the obvious way with a CSB or such..... Nice!
BTW, Volvo axles have Dana 30 internals so various types of differentials are available.

Just a quick little update
Front and rear suspension is all mounted up, just waiting on a few more bits to arrive then it can sit on its wheels

Just read this thread for the first time - truck should be a beauty when its finished 2 hints for your painting from the tailgate photos : 1. Don't ever use newspaper to mask off - the print can be left behind and the paper is porous and lets paint through. Use proper masking paper. 2. Spray the base colour AND clearcoat it BEFORE you spray any pinstriping, lettering, two-tone etc. Then if you do get a leak, run or overspray it will just come straight off with some thinners. another first reader here too , wont be my last visit!
a different approach with paint is to waft a tickle of the base colour on before you hit it with the second , that way any bleed behind the masking wont show....simples!

Great build. Can i ask how you are doing your propshaft? I'm in the same boat with my swap, keeping the autobox and using a solid axle so there needs to be a bit of movement some where.

Erm i haven't fully decided but my idea was to keep a 2 piece prop with center bearing then just change the axle end to have a slip yoke to take any movement that might happen. however if that doesn't work i did think about just running a solid one piece and hope for the best or at least until it breaks the axle or gear box

Or get something like this machined up to just bolt on to the 3 prong yoke. collinsadapters.com/index.php/1350-1310-yoke-drive-shaft-adapter-for-toyota-lexus-3-prong-differential.htmlI also have a Hilux front prop shaft that i will be using as it is of the sliding type. my prop will only be about 3 foot long so I'm not bothering with a centre bearing.

Please please please, if this ever comes up for sale let me know!!! I think you will have to take a number and wait in line, the amount of people who have said to me they want 1st refusal on this is i ever sell it is quite staggering, I never realised there was so many people who are aware of this truck and want to own it. If i ever did come to sell it i would offer it on here first so my fellow petrol heads can enjoy it. Also on the subject of the truck the clear Waxoyl has been sprayed on today and i have had some tyres mounted up to put on. I have work all day tomorrow so the aim is to have the axle mounted Sunday and sit it on its wheels. Exciting times
