Thanks Guys and just to confirm the reason for using 3mm plate on that section of chassis leg, and not the regular 1.5mm
David wants to be able to use those points to jack the car up in the future without fear of the legs getting damaged

Any more detailed photo's of where the rollover things are attached to? They look simple and easy to work with.

I believe they are of the sort that mount on to your hub/disc.

As always I'm simply in awe of your metal skills! I mean those chassis repairs are invisible! A true artist at work in my humble opinion! Love seeing your work!

I don't know what's more exciting, seeing the Celica all bodywork-finished or the prospect of a new project incoming.

A testament to fine craftsmanship. If the rest of the work is carried out to this standard, that should end up a very tasty Celica.
Waits patiently for the next project.

A masterclass. Keep them coming, Did you weld the chassis leg repair panel together from three separate pieces? If so was this because the 3mm sheet was so hard to bend?

Only the base section was 3mm with a 20mm flange folded on, this was done in a vice with a big hammer, and my arms still hurt
The sides were then welded on in 1.5mm, there was no need for the whole section to be 3mm, the 20mm flange will add lots of stiffness more than suitable for jacking up on

It's not connected to anything, I suspect that there should be some sort of clamp or support that goes round the strut, but I got these secondhand so I'm unsure about that bit

Looks factory fresh! Glad to know we'll be able to see the build up. Might be worth a separate build thread now, though, if Tony is going to continue on with the BMW. Might get a tad confusing! D:

did a bit of work on the 28, decided had to go down the power steering road as the steering box is just to much like hard work, went for ae86 member ps rack, 2jz pump but had to get a new forward sump as the one i had was rear facing also needed new engine mounts and a new weld on universal joint thingy from the rack to the column , while the egine was out gave it a clean up
