Does anyone know of common faults on these? Insurance was cheap enough, under £200,everything seems to work ok and it drives fabulously, only downside is fuel consumption although it doesn't seem THAT bad to be honest? Plenty of bits on ebay too which is a bonus.

Well I have had this Lexus for just over a month now and its FABULOUS!!There are no ominous warning lights staying lit,it drives like a new one and its not THAT bad on fuel, the only thing I don't like is the fact that its Auto and the stupid foot operated handbrake but I can live with that, not that I need worry as I can't get the keys off the Mrs because she loves it too! I wanted to buy a towbar for it but some of the towbar companies wanted more for the towbar than I paid for the car!!!

MOT is up on the Lexus in a few days,we have a slight exhaust blow and the handbrake is not holding, may need a couple of tyre's too so not sure whether to spend the money on getting it sorted or not....I can get a stainless cat back exhaust for £500 and tyres are £60-100 depending on make,I will put it through MOT and report back shortly....

We still own the Lexus,4 new tyres fitted £210 which I thought was a bargain,I have a new caliper sliding bolt and rubbers to fit as the slider sometimes sticks, also a bush has worn on the front causing the strut to move slightly rearward under braking, apart from that no trouble......Fuel consumption is quite reasonable when the wife drives it but I struggle to get over 22/23mpg. I can get the full T.C.A.for approx £100 but the bush is available for £25,I think I will bite the bullet and change the whole arm as I don't have a press to get the old bush out/refit the new. These old Lexus are good value for money as no one wants them because of the fuel consumption, they do drive very well and shift when you want them too.
