Following my Morris 1000 build, my next project is a Ronart. It uses a Jaguar XJ 6 as a donor vehicle This provides the rear suspension The engine - Classic XK straight six 3.4 litre. The gearbox will be changed to a manual 5 speed. It also provides the front suspension components.

The chassis is nearly finished - it just needs powdercoating. And I built up the induction system ........ Which is...... Wait for it!.......... Pure automotive porn!!!!

I remember reading about these in old kit car mags, bit of a beast IIRC! Keep the pics coming pls! :-) Yes the Ronart Company has been around for quite a long time - they now also make a mean Electric car called the "Lightning". Anyway more Pics - the last couple of days has been spent working on the rear hubs and suspension, cleaning off the filth, scraping the rust and then smoothing for paint or polish. The starting point Getting better

Picked up the shortened propshaft today so prepped it, primered it, sprayed it and put it with the rest of the bits. However there were two bits of timing chain vibration damper floating in the front timing chain cover so the engine will now need to be stripped and checked.

Thanks Omega and mdh. The chassis is at the powdercoating company now so I expect to collect it, together with the body panels and all the other parts, from Ronart in the next ten days.

Any chance it'll be ready for RRG 2014? I'd love to see it monster the hill.

I am still waiting for some parts but I was able to loosely put the diff in place to check for fit and then I put the drive shafts and wishbones in as well. (There is a strut taking the place of the coil-over shocks.)

Thanks MDH A bit more progress with the brake pipes loosely fitted, steering column assembled and mudguard struts in position - all done loosely as I need to collect quite a few more parts.

More bits done - the wing supports are in place with small bits cut out of the bodywork. The wings themselves will need bolts fibre glassing in place to fix them to the struts. Another job was to put the hinges on the boot lid and I also got the handbrake in position

More brackets attached for the bonnet and I trial fitted the nice alloy radiator.

More parts collected but only nuts and bolts. Still I can now put more bits on with the correct fasteners - like the diff plate. I have done some work on locating and labelling the electrical loom.
