Heres another picture from inside the divided capital Nicosia in Cyprus. Yes another Toyota dealer. This car is at a different location to the cars pictured earlier in the thread.  I have sent this particular picture to practical classics recently. Wow!!! That's pretty amazing stuff, how did you actually manage to gain access? What other models are there? Any more pics???  |

Sorry I sort of fell across this picture whilst booking my holiday last year.
You have to know someone in the UN to get access to the green line areas.
As for the people in the picture I really don't know who it is.

There's some debate about this on the urban exploration forums, there are obvious signs of looters and damage inside the fence and locals reckon this is partly an 'inside' job and partly local vandals and travellers... So if they can get in, it might not be impossible. |

I had heard that the vandalism and damage was due to bored squadies.
Urbexing an area where trespassers are shot on sight without warning is pretty hardcore...
Remember you get 2 years in prison for photographing anything which is of military interest there.

The 'green line' in Cyprus varies in width greatly. In the capital Nicosia it is as narrow as a few yards, in Famagusta it is much wider and different regional circumstances apply in different areas. A previous suburb of Famagusta is called Varosha and is almost totally deserted apart from some Turkish troops. This suburb is several miles square. True there has been widespread looting in this area but Nicosia is a different situation. There are quite a few pictures of the Varosha areas on the web and these show no external signs of car showrooms, stocked shops etc.  This is typical of what the area looks like. I've a petrol head cousin who lives in Northern Cyprus. He says venturing into the area is a great way of risking getting shot ! If there was any way, either legal or illegal of getting the cars out, the locals would have done it years ago.
