Friend of mine has a YB powered mk1 escort that has run a timed 180mph, he used to say his favourite hobby was to give it some beans on the motorway and come up behind a big Audi or BMW and give them a flash of the Cibie Oscars. He said about 50% of the time they would accelerate to try and outrun him so he'd give them a little room but stay on their tail until they hit the 155mph limiter and then give them another flash to move over. Falls to knees in admiration, I SO want to do this!

These days I think people would be more surprised to find a stock domestic grade mk 1 or 2 Escort than a tuned one.

How much of a sleeper does your Triumph look Andy? I know the wheels are none standard but they are popular with most classics so don't necessarily shout monster.

so many different opinions on what a sleeper is/should be,anything that shocks your average motorist is job done regardless of wheels etc (within reason of course!)I know if my dad got owned by a 30 year old reasonably normal looking car in his Ibiza fr which is fairly nippy and corners well he would be lost for words/making u excuses...

Was bright yellow, with a black bonnet, 17" Minilites and 4 Super Oscars on it last time I saw it, caged interior etc etc but it was being rebuilt so who knows now.

Volvo back as my main squeeze, more boost and some interior goodies on the way.

G'day I think my Morris Minor qualifies as a sleeper Mr Morris claimed 28kw for the standard 948cc but Mr Mazda claimed 120kw for the injected 6 port 13B it now runs. Cheers Graham

^Paint the bonnet standard body colour, put some correct Ford hub caps on (maybe leave one off for the period correct look?) and YES...that is definitely a sleeper IMHO. All the above plus a duct tape repair to the bumper.
