Starting a thread of my own since I'm also creating a project on this one.
I live in the Scanian part of Sweden in a little village and I actually got this car for free from an eighty year old man who came to the understanding that he shouldn't drive anymore.
he bought the car new on the 14th of april 1987 and this is the last MK 2 but 1986 model.
I have full documentation on the car, every reciept of anything ever bought for the car is in my possesion.
It has been serviced at a workshop every year before entering the Swedish vehicle inspection authority and hasn't had a single remark in its soon to be 27 years!
The car is as mint as you see in the pictures except for the rusty windshield viperarms, the antennaholder and the front windowframe.
I'm going to refresh the car a bit and simply change old parts like the above mentioned for new ones and also style it with parts fitting the model. No parts will be used that wasn't available in 1987.
Upgrades will be:
* 7 inch wide original steel rims fitted with 165/70-14 tyres painted high gloss black with cromerings and cromebolts.
* Lowered springs 40/40 mm and new KYB/Kayaba original length shock absorbers because I don't want the car to be to stiff.
* original front grill with two rectangular extra lights.
* some sort of front splitter/lip
* Strut bars front and back mounted on top of the original bolts.
* 1980ish radio only, extern music will be transmitted true FM reciever in the cigaretteplug.
* Weber 45 DCOE "Spain" not for speed but for wonderful sound!
