Hi, I've a 1963 Consul Capri under restoration, hoping to have it back on the road in a couple of months. Has a V6 Essex tricked up with Burton's products and all the running gear off a later mk3 Capri. Will be changing the diff to make a cruiser instead of the beast it is from 0 to 60 mph, which is fun when it eats Golf gti's, but to noisey after 60 mph. It will be sprayed a Cadbury type purple with plenty of metal fleck in it, and a white over purple pearl on the roof, so when the light hits it the purple shows through. Before rebuild Rebuild

Love these. Used to drool over an Ermine white GT in the early 70's. Even then most ere dropping to bits around the front wings. Yours looks very sound

Stunning prior to rebuild. For some reason these always look good in pale blue. Also love the panted steel but they also look great with Wolfrace slots.

My old one is still doing the rounds, got to be one of the most stylish shapes ever to come out of a ford factory. Essex lump gives them the go to match the show.

Always liked this, been about a while in its previous guise has it not? As far as I know it the bodywork and paint was done around 20 years ago, which is a credit to the work for how good the bodywork is. Its needs a respray as corrosion was starting to come through, so we stripped the paint and found lots of filler around the repairs, so I have had all new panels made by hand e.g. rear 1/4 panels from arch to piller, new lower door skins, sills, side light panels and valance repair kits. The wings were part exchanged for wings that has been repaired as new. As there are only 180 of these cars on the road, I decided that I was going to spend the money and do the job properly, and hope it lasts another 20 years before a referb.

Little did I know how rare these would become when i owned a white GT at 18 whilst in the army, swapped it for a mk111 zodiac,as it had bench front seat and column change, which meant 6 of us could get in for trips, and it was great when you had a willing girl!!!
