minor new project (THE RUB DOWN) fresh paint on!

saw this morris minor on flea bay buy it now so i made a silly offer and they said yes, looks a mess needs a bit of welding but the engine is sweet not going concourse i like my rides ruff round the edges (and too skint) doing the usual banded steels lowered stereo bit of paint its not bad for £450

after 6 months of putting all this right loads of rust under all 4 arches and the floor also welded the number plate recess on the boot and smoothed the front changed rear lights for the older type ones and fitted led indecators to them sorted out the wheels banded by mr speedy also most importantly got the tunes fitted and then after a few problems took him to be mot ed , and he passed
next jobs tidy interior and engine bay

God I need to make some progress on mine.
Hmm that is a way to do the rear indicators... I've worked out what I'm doing for front ones but hadn't worked out rear yet.
Was thinking of just running them underneath where they're harder to see when off.

like this reminds me of mine that I built about 25 yrs ago
worked for rover at the time and the mechanics help me rebuild the engine using bits from lying round the place ,mg metro carb,flowed head then bought a janspeed manifold that thing would spin the wheels in the first 3 gears wish id never sold it

Is the plan to keep it primer grey? Or are you going to paint it Burmuda/Clipper Blue and keep it originalish?

will paint it but not in a hurry to do so , going for ford olympic blue but in matt ,

Nice moggy, you turn up at MMOC meeting with that they'll be spitting out the earl grey and loosing they'll cloth caps!

People used to fit 1300 marina/fiat twin cams engines and 5 speed gearboxes but both are geting very thin on the ground, today zetec and ford 5 cogs are all the rage.

I also removed the number plate hump but moved the plate to the right bottom corner and rotated and frenched the rear lights
The front had blended corners as well also a mesh grille and bonnet smoothed

It is always interesting to see other peoples' vision of a Minor in the 21st century.
Mine is a little different to yours but diversity makes this site interesting.

with a bit of dry weather for a change thought id crack on and cover my door panels with a comic strip print table cloth next step is to paint the vinyl seats black can anyone suggest a good spray paint for that thanks

finaly got off my ass and booked him in for a respray, so spent the last 4 days rubbing, rust proofing, filling and primering ,should get the car back tuesday
