I lusted after these when they were still in production, and I've been after a good one of for years, so I'm chuffed to bits
It's a 1996 B4 Audi Coupe E, with the 2 litre 8V lump. It's covered 123k miles, so under average, and looking into the history, it was on 99k in 2005, so it was averaging 11k a year up to then. But it's had an easy life since then averaging only 3k miles a year for the last 8 years.
The colour is something else. Byzanz Purple, which was one of the optional extra 'Lifestyle' colours offered by Audi on the Coupes and Cabriolets. It's a stunning colour, full of metallic sparkle
Equipment-wise, it has the usual central locking (with a key), power steering, electric windows and mirrors, plus an electric sunroof. It has the extra Audi gauges for oil temp, oil pressure and voltage, and has walnut trim and half leather seating.
The wheels are RS4 replicas, in anthracite, and it's a very good paint job too.
It's had only 3 previous owners, and there's a massive pile of history including every MOT it's ever had (1999 onwards), and every tax disc since 2000! The original leather book pack is there too.
Julie and I drove down to collect it from Tim yesterday (top bloke), and it drove the 212 mile return journey faultlessly. Here it is at Stafford Services on the M54 on the way back...
and when we got home...
Chunky twin tail bulb set up
Gauges light up nicely...
Front fogs on...
So, I was off work today, and I set about getting some shine going on. As it started...
washed and dried off..
After a clay and a polish...
So plans? Nothing mechanically other than regular oil & filter changes etc. Cosmetically, it is such a stunner that it deserves to be mint, so I have booked it in with the guy who worked his magic on the Celica to get rid of the various scratches, scuffs, small dents and stone chips. It'll be going in in a couple of weeks. I fancy a new head unit and some new number plates and I'll be getting the missing centre cap replaced. Another job to do is get the small tear in the drivers seat leather fixed.
Loving it.
