thats my point though, we all know its happened in the banger world and no one will deny it and no one can say it will never happen again as i said before theres always 1 bad apple, i also know a few people who have unknowinly brought a stolen car and have a criminal record for that and they are as straiht as the day is long,
you never answered my question,so can you 100% say that this doesnt happen in the retro/classic car world
Dodgy stuff does happen In the classic/retro car scene, but we actively try to weed It out. For example you are posting In a sub forum that's sole purpose is to track down stolen cars, there are plenty of other fb pages are and forums run by enthusiasts trying to do the same thing. Classic cars being sold under dodgy circumstances (ringers, ID'S sold with a pile of rust ect) on the net regularly get attention brought to them by enthusiasts. There have even been cases of forum members helping insurance companies to out fellow enthusiasts committing insurance fraud.
Yet when someone suggests the banger community could do more to help stamp out the few giving the sport a bad rep, They just say it couldn't be done and try and pass the buck on to people. If it's not the fault of the car owners for allowing it to be stolen or trying to pass the buck by saying It happens in other scenes, As if trying to justify it in some way?
I've got nothing against the banger racing community, as gutting as it is to see cool retro cars getting nailed, its something that has gone on for decades and something I used to enjoy watching as a kid. It just seems there is a very dismissive attitude from that scene to weed out what we keep being told is a very small minority
