As some of you"s know I came across a nice 2.8 injection with a rover v8 fitted,I always liked capris after having mk2 escorts, mantas and so on so when I came across this I said I had to go for it So last Sunday we jumped in the wagon and picked her up,we had to pick it up with the wagon as there wasn't a stitch of a brake on it,so first thing was first a few brake lines had to be repaired the top rad hose had also seen better days and had to be replaced but nothing major for a car not in use 6 years the under neath is remarkably good and it has some kind of braced axel with adjustable arms if anyone's ever seen them before let me know what's the deal with them! And my new waste oil burner sharing obviously showing the same kind of enthusiasm as I am for the crapi

So far so good, couple of brake lines, rad hoses, flasher unit, few fuses, the usual really, took it out this eve, only bummer is the missing rim,the car came with three 8x13 compomotive ms and one 4 spoke rs rim which is snagging the arch badly.so may have to bite the bullit and buy a set of rims if I can't locate another penta style job

The bars are an axle location kit to triangulate the axle with the springs.

The axle A-frames were really popular in the old days. A bolt on upgrade, unlike Panhard rods and the like. Nice car! Can we see the wheels it has please? Maybe somebody on here has a spare one.

Quick update after long time, Finally bought a set of 7 x 13 penta rims to split them to make a set for the capri as it was fitted with 8x13"s but one was missing so the best I could manage was 8"s on the rear and 7"s up front Also got them powder coated at the same time and ordered a set of new centres from compomotive, fitted new wheel studs at the same time as I was sick using four different sockets to open the wheels. I had a serious job to get the 185/50 tyres blew up on the 8inch rims The v8 needs a tune up and tappets adjusted and the gearstick bushings had it

Please don't take this as a negative comment in any way, but do 13" wheels allow you to fit brakes big enough to manage the power you must be running? The car looks fantastic on the dishy rims above!
I'd change the decals to "3.5 injection" in the original font... love that front end!
