"Giuseppe" rest asured I'm not going to copy that car, I removing all the crome and removing the the roof gutters and seams around the back and front of the car. I'd like to try using the Fulvia sedan rear lights if I cant get them to fit. I think they look alot nicer that the coupe's.
I have a long way to go still, so ideas are likely to change as I go along.
Cheer for the comments.

"goldnrust" Thanks, I was going to replace arches as per original but I kind of like the flared look. I couldn't visualize it earlier, until i got started. The edge of the arch is about 15 to 20 mm higher than standard, so ill be lowering or using larger Flavia steel rims (15") Later as money permits ill go for repo HF rims. I had the Flavia magnesium rims but was concerned about the age, and fragile nature of them. So sold them to a guy in os. He paid me SAR 7000 and the shipping cost him another SAR 7000 to get them over the pond. He fitted them to his Fulvia sport.

I assume you are talking about the squarish S2 sedan lights as the the S1 were the same as the coupe. I'm sorry I think the S1 tail lights are some of the best ever designed. The change by Lancia is one of the sole reasons I would not consider a later sedan. I respect that it's your car and you can/ should do what you want, it's just my opinion.

I had a look at the sedans lights and they don't look right so ill be staying with the stock lights. I was thinking about fuel injection last night and how to keep the engine bay looking stock, so I thought why not convert the standard 35mm solex carbs into throttle bodies and install the fuel injectors underneath the carb body thus hiding the injectors and keeping the original look. A small turbo hiden low down in the engine bay feeding the solex carbs through a standard looking airfilter box would add a little spice. Would loose the exhaust note though. Maybe a well hiden supercharger would work better.
Has this been done before on dels, webbers or solexs before? I know that Holley has at carb looking kit.

Yes but I can't offer the example at the moment. I saw 240Z, I thought it had 3 webers but it turned out they did just what you suggest. It used the webers as throttle bodies with the injectors hidden below, you really had to look close.

Last night I did a few calculations to figure out how much extra weight I've added to the fulvia's shell, I've used 2mm square tubing for the inner sill and 1.6mm steel for the outer sill. 2mm for the new wheel arch lips and 1.4mm for the floor patches. Standard size used as measured from the car appears to be 1.2mm. It works out to around 12.5kg, that's not bad considering the extra strength and rigidity of the shell.

I've picked up the metal, and had it bent for the wheel arch lips. Just got to get at the hammering them to shape. Watch this space.

Front wheel arch made and welded in. Fender needs a bit more work, I'll try pulling it out further with the slide hammer or just make a repair section and weld it in to get the crease line running correct. Another view. Dummy wheel shot, doesn't look to shabby. I seem to be getting the hang of stretching and shaping the wheel arch lip. I dreading doing the other side. Matching up the lip side to side is going to be a challenge. C

've welded the repair patch in to correct the crease line, it looks much better and i'll only need very little body filler over the top. The quarter panel is not in great shape, it is so far out I'm going to replace it too. I don't want to much filler over the top of the repairs. Luckly the other side of the car is in much better shape except for the rear where its been knocked.
I havent taken any shots yet but will take some of the crease line repairs and post them tomorrow.

Replacement quarter panel tacked in place, needs a bit of adjustment and welding up. I'm almost there with the one side of the car.
Slowly but surely.

It's coming on really quickly now! Is that a 13" wheel, it looks quite small in the new arch? Have you got any wheel thoughts for the finished thing?

Yes its a 13' trailer wheel I have. I have the standard 14' rims and 175/65 tires that I need to trial fit, but I do think ill need to go larger. Perhaps 15' and lower the ride height a bit.
New repair patch spot welded in place, a bit more adjustment then weld in. I'm still not happy with the crease line as it dips into the panel in two places and does not look that straight. Will sort it out soon.

Today I sold the 175/65r14 tires i was going to use and bought 175/80r14 tyres. I think it will fill the wheel arches nicely. Cant wait to get done with all the welding work.
